Piers Morgan became embroiled in a fiery Good Morning Britain row today over Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s resignation from their senior royal duties.
The GMB host and political commentator Ayesha Hazarika clashed over whether the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s treatment in the media has been fair – with Piers calling the pair ‘spoiled brats’ who have treated the Queen ‘awfully’.
Former Labour advisor Ms Hazarika said Meghan had been the victim of racism in the media and said: ‘As a very successful white man you will not have experienced what other people will have experienced in their life. Walk a mile in someone else’s shoes.’
Piers hit back demanding examples of actual racism, insisting that Meghan had in fact been protected from the worst of the press unlike Princess Diana or Camilla.

Ms Hazarika said: ‘I get rejection is hard but what has Meghan done to you.’
Piers replied: ‘I believe when people show you who they are believe them.
‘She disowned her entire family apart from her mother. Harry’s never met his father-in-law, she’s ditched her old friends who got cut dead.
‘She’s split up those boys, Harry from his brother. Where is the racism? You can’t just say it’s racism.’
At the beginning of the show, Piers launched into an excoriating rant accusing the pair of ‘holding the Queen to ransom” and ‘literally breaking up the Royal family’ ahead of a crisis summit at Sandringham today.
The Good Morning Britain host launched into the ten-minute tirade calling the Duke and Duchess of Sussex ‘spoilt brats’ and who ‘want to be global superstars’ instead of fulfilling their ‘taxpayer funded royal duties’.
Discussing the royal showdown called by Her Majesty following the Sussexes shock announcement last Wednesday, Piers urged the pair to ‘to eat humble pie and listen to the wisest woman in the world.’

Piers said: ‘You can’t say I didn’t warn you. Prince Harry and Meghan are now holding the Queen to random about how they want the monarchy to run, and drag us kicking and screaming into a “woke-ocrasy”.
‘Meghan’s been “surviving” in their massive palatial mansion given to them by the Queen while pushing their eco-message and taking private jets with Elton John.
‘And what about their six-week break before the New Year living in a billionaire home – for nothing.’
Susanna Reid tried to defend Prince Harry, pointing to his past mental health struggles, insisting that it doesn’t dictate internal emotions.
But Piers was undeterred, adding: ‘They seem to be really going out of their way to help their struggles by living a life of unparalleled luxury.
Piers also blasted the pair following the emergence of footage showing Prince Harry at the London Lion King premiere last year appearing to tout Meghan for voice over work with the head of Disney Bob Iger

‘They still want millions of taxpayer’s pounds – they don’t want to be financially independent – the Duchy isn’t financial independence.
‘You do the duty and you get the taxpayer money, you’re not half-in half-out. That’s not how it works.
Piers also blasted the pair following the emergence of footage showing Prince Harry at the London Lion King premiere last year appearing to tout Meghan for voice over work with the head of Disney Bob Iger.
They’d never exploit their royal status,’ he mocked before running footage of the moment filmed by a fan. ‘This is not a spoof, Harry is now Meghan’s agent,’ he said.
‘It’s like my late great agent. He used to go up to powerful people at parties and get me work. The Sussexes are hustling the boss of Disney!’
‘They’ve signed up to a Disney voice over deal which will benefit an elephant charity but it’s not about the charity it’s about her career.’
Piers then urged viewers to sympathise with the Queen instead of Meghan and Harry.
On the red carpet of the Lion King premiere last July, the Duke of Sussex collared the powerful Disney chief and advertised ex-actress partner’s ‘interest’ in doing voiceover work. Right: Meghan embraces Beyoncé
He said: ‘The Queen’s just had to fire her middle son, her 98 year old husband is very sick and right at their very moment these two little spoiled brats are holding her to ransom at the worst moment.
‘If they want to leave after 18 months then that’s fine,’ he said before ranting directly at Meghan: ‘I always thought you’d do this anyway. You quit your friends, you quit your dad, and you quit your jobs.
‘But you’re not allowed the benefits. If you can’t be bothered to put the yards in a wet Wednesday is Cleethorpes.
‘And on that very day that Harry was hustling on her behalf the Royal Marines – of which he is their Captain General – held a ceremony about the anniversary of the death of 11 personnel.
‘Harry didn’t go to that memorial which was very moving because he had to go and hustle his wife some voice over action from the boss of Disney.
‘They are literally breaking up the royal family – dividing the royal family.’
Harry and Meghan are said to have felt pushed out of the royal family by his older brother William, who will see his younger sibling face-to-face at Sandringham later (pictured together on July 10, 2018)
The Queen (pictured attending church at Sandringham on Sunday), who was left deeply hurt by her grandson’s decision to release the statement without her knowledge, has summoned Princes Charles, William and Harry for a crisis meeting to resolve the Sussexes future
He then moved on to attack the Duke and Duchess of Sussexes glossy website on which they released the terms of their future relationships with the media.
He said: ‘On their website they lay down their laws. And how they plan on treating the media and only invite papers that are positive to them.
‘They only want their friends from the papers they like. Nobody who might expose them to scrutiny for hustling themselves to Disney. This is what Vladimir Putin or Kim Jong Un would do.
‘They’re workshy millionaires,’ he continued. Then directing his rant at viewers, asked: ‘How much of a struggle do you have to fix a roof viewers? Life’s a struggle for – not for them.
‘They’d like to be global superstars putting the world to right and saving the planet one private jet at a time. And I hope the Queen should take precedent here.’
Finally he responded to suggestions from foreign press that Meghan has been the victim of racism in the British media.
He said: ‘When they got married I never saw a bigger outpouring of love for them – it has nothing to do with racism. I’ve seen papers calling us a racist country. It’s utter offensive nonsense.’
He added: ‘William took eight years to marry Kate Middleton and they split up in that time and they figured out if they wanted it.
‘Meghan came in a few months after they were engaged.
‘”Remember what mum told us. Take your time”, William told him. I just don’t see how you can be half-royal half-global celebrity.
‘This is seriously bad behaviour. You can’t have Prince Harry at a public meeting hustling his wife some TV work. It’s cringe worthy and embarrassing.
‘They need to eat humble pie and listen to the wisest woman in the world.’
