PIERS MORGAN: Chrissy Teigen would have led charge to cancel anyone who said the filth she spewed

‘Why do you ALWAYS take the road of being a piece of sh*t a**hole?’ a furious Chrissy Teigen tweeted me several years ago.

Her rage was inspired by a column I wrote about Jennifer Aniston who had hypocritically slammed the media for scrutinizing her body despite appearing in 100s of heavily photoshopped and very lucrative magazine covers.

‘Please tell me you aren’t TRULY this vile,’ Teigen continued. ‘I think you aren’t this bad & have simply sold your soul for clicks. Which is even sadder than actually believing your garbage.’

How hollow this sanctimonious tirade looks now as the nasty, vile truth about Chrissy Teigen has finally emerged to paint a very different picture from the self-righteous, virtuous plinth of moral perfection she wrapped herself around for years as America’s celebrity Canceller-in-Chief.

In 2019, Teigen led a foul-mouthed campaign to destroy gym firms Equinox and SoulCycle because their owner dared to hold a fund-raising event for President Trump.

In 2011, she posted a barrage of tweets telling then-16-year-old TV personality Courtney Stodden, who had just married 50-year-old actor Doug Hutchison, to 'go to sleep forever'.

Lindsay Lohan was also the subject of an insensitive post by Teigen. A tweet from January 2011 read: 'Lindsay adds a few more slits to her wrists when she sees emma stone'

In 2011, she posted a barrage of tweets telling then-16-year-old TV personality Courtney Stodden, who had just married 50-year-old actor Doug Hutchison, to ‘go to sleep forever’. Stodden then revealed Teigen would also ‘privately DM me and tell me to kill myself’ and say things like ‘I can’t wait for you to die.’  But her very worst comment came when she made fun of Lindsay Lohan attempting to commit suicide: ‘lindsay adds a few more slits to her wrists when she sees emma stone.’ Somehow, Teigen survived this, despite the tweets exposing her as a shameful and disgusting hypocrite

When one of her Instagram followers asked, ‘Are we seriously not using businesses now that don’t have the same political views as us?’, Teigen spat back: ‘Yeah we f*cking are. These different views you speak of are fundamental differences in compassion, empathy, humanity.’

That was how Teigen saw herself, and how she wanted the world to see herself – as a superior moral being, someone who epitomises the very best kind of human values.

And she was savagely intolerant of anyone who fell below her very high standards.

Yet it was all an act.

There’s never been anything compassionate, empathetic or humane about Chrissy Teigen.

Like so many of the famous woke brigade, her whole ‘Be Kind!’ shtick was a façade.

In fact, she’s always been a despicable piece of work who built a career around being married to a pop star and being a professional social media troll.

Several years ago, a number of her poisonous old tweets re-emerged online.

They revealed Ms Perfect to be a quite horrible human being.

She ridiculed transsexual contestants on America’s Next Top Model: ‘God. Can we just come out and call the freaking show America’s next top tr***y because this s**t has been tr***tastic for the past five years.’

She mocked Lady Gaga’s supposedly masculine appearance: ‘Aaaaah. I feel like lady gaga. But with lady parts.’

She taunted Demi Lovato about her stay in an addiction clinic: ‘demi lovato is out of rehab! I hope she made the bed for Charlie.’

In one tweet Teigen told Stodden to 'take a dirt nap,' which is slang for death

When Mariah Carey announced she was having twins, Teigen cruelly shamed her: ‘why is anyone surprised mariah is having twins? I was always pretty positive there were 2-15 babies growing inside of her.’

She viciously attacked Teen Mom star Farrah Abraham: ‘farrah Abraham now thinks she is pregnant from her sex tape. In other news you’re a whore and everyone hates you.’

She lashed out at Avril Lavigne: ‘If u told me I could I have kid but it would be exactly like avril, I would choose to have a barren, sterile existence that ends when I die.’

And she attacked 9-year-old actress Quvenzhané Wallis for her presenting performance at the 2013 Oscars. ‘Is it okay to call a small child cocky?’ she tweeted.

But her very worst comment came when she made fun of Lindsay Lohan attempting to commit suicide: ‘lindsay adds a few more slits to her wrists when she sees emma stone.’

Somehow, Teigen survived this, despite the tweets exposing her as a shameful and disgusting hypocrite.

It was, as I said at the time, a clear case of one cancel culture rule for the woke brigade and another for everyone us.

If it had been a conservative celebrity who had spewed such repulsive attacks on women, Chrissy Teigen would have led the charge for that person to be shamed, vilified and cancelled.

But instead of being cancelled, Teigen just carried on abusing people on Twitter, notably Donald Trump who she constantly raged against for being an unconscionable monster.

She was paid millions of dollars by companies to promote their products and grew ever richer and more famous.

And then, last month, more of Teigen’s old Twitter behaviour came to light, only this time far worse than even the previous dreadful stuff.

Teigen taunted Demi Lovato about her stay in an addiction clinic: 'demi lovato is out of rehab! I hope she made the bed for Charlie.'

Stodden then revealed Teigen would also ‘privately DM me and tell me to kill myself’ and say things like ‘I can’t wait for you to die.’

This time, the backlash that followed came at a financial cost.

Teigen was promptly dropped by several firms including Safely, the cleaning brand she founded with Kris Jenner, and Macy’s, Target and Bloomingdale’s.

She also pulled out of Netflix’s new series Never Have I Ever.

Yesterday, in a desperate attempt to save her career, Teigen posted a lengthy apology in which she bleated that she was a changed woman, this all happened when she was young, and she’s so sorry for being a ‘troll’ and an ‘a**hole’… blah blah blah.

She wrote: ‘The world needs more kindness and love and I want to contribute to it. I’ve been on a path of self-improvement for the past decade and that path is going to continue.’

Unfortunately for her, at the same we were having to endure reading this nauseating self-serving guff, another person came forward to state that she tried to ruin his life too.

Project Runway star Michael Costello said Teigen torpedoed his fashion career and left him feeling suicidal, after he tried to explain to her that an Instagram claim that he’d used a racial slur was a fake, as was later confirmed.

The latest: Project Runway alum Michael Costello, 38, took to Instagram Monday saying that the abuse he absorbed at the hands of Chrissy Teigen, 35, in 2014 torpedoed his fashion career and left him with suicidal ideations

Details: Costello took to social media as Teigen publicly addressed her own bullying scandal, apologizing in a Medium post on Monday morning in which she admitted to being a 'troll' and an 'a**hole' while insisting that she is 'no longer that person'

Costello shared screengrabs of DMs he received from Teigen in 2014 which said: 'Racist people like you deserve to suffer and die. You might as well be dead. Your career is over, just watch.'

In a lengthy post, Costello wrote that Teigen and her stylist Monica Rose went ‘out of their way to threaten people and brands that if they were in any shape or form associated with me, they would not work with any of them.’

He included screengrabs of DMs he received from Teigen which said: ‘Racist people like you deserve to suffer and die. You might as well be dead. Your career is over, just watch.’

This all happened in 2014, three years into Teigen’s supposed decade of ‘self-improvement’, and when was a 28-year-old woman, not a dumb teenager.

So, like everything else in Chrissy Teigen’s warped world, her mea culpa yesterday was a lie, a sham and deliberate attempt to con the world into thinking she’s a nice person really.

She’s not and never has been.

In fact, Teigen’s the worst kind of shameless, duplicitous woke celebrity.

Teigen (pictured with husband John Legend in 2020) never apologized for any of her hateful tweets until they were unearthed, and she never showed an ounce of compassion or forgiveness to any of her myriad victims that she so relentlessly hounded and tried to ruin

Like Jameela Jamil and Meghan Markle, she constantly preaches about kindness and compassion whilst simultaneously treating people with a shocking lack of either.

Now, as her career and reputation tumble into the abyss, Teigen wants our forgiveness.

She wants a second chance, to prove she’s changed.

But why does she deserve that?

She never apologized for any of her hateful tweets until they were unearthed, and she never showed an ounce of compassion or forgiveness to any of her myriad victims that she so relentlessly hounded and tried to ruin.

In fact, quite the opposite – she told them she wished them dead.

So, sorry Chrissy – but spare me your pathetic crocodile tears.

You revelled in fuelling cancel culture, and now you’re getting cancelled yourself because it turned out you’re worse than any of the people you trolled, and yes, I include Donald Trump in that.

I don’t like cancel culture, because in most cases the victims of it don’t deserve to be cancelled.

But in your case, it couldn’t happen to a nastier hypocritical bully.
