Pink steals the show with an acrobatic performance of Cover Me In Sunshine

Before receiving the Icon Award at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards, the legendary Pink stole the show with an acrobatic performance of Cover Me In Sunshine alongside nine-year-old daughter Willow Sage.

The 41-year-old singer released Cover Me In Sunshine in mid-February, a duet with her daughter Willow, that kicked off a medley of memorable Pink songs.

The performance featured mother and daughter showing off their acrobatic skills as they clung to rope swings and twirled high above the ground while delivering a memorable performance before she was presented with the Icon Award from one of the singer’s first crushes, Jon Bon Jovi.

Pink started her performance wearing a sparkling black onesie with fishnet stockings and a flowing black skirt over it, as she embraced her daughter willow, wearing a tan dress as they both took to the stage barefoot.

A dual rope swing was lowered from the roof as they were taken up into the air with a huge image of the moon looming in the background.

The singer completed her look with small gold hoop earrings as she performed the song with her daughter, while twirling about in the dual rope swings in an impressive acrobatic performance.

The performance even earned a rave review from a celebrity fan, Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner, who shared a stunned snap of herself on her Instagram story, adding, ‘Pink and her daughter OMG OMG OMG so beautiful.’

The performance was introduced by the singer’s first crush, Jon Bon Jovi, who he’s since become close friends with, though Pink made it clear she was ‘crushed’ upon learning the Bon Jovi frontman was married.

‘Jon Bon Jovi, I think you know this. I didn’t come out of my room for a week when you married Dorothea,’ the singer said.

‘I ripped your poster off the wall and replaced you with (Skid Row frontman) Sebastian Bach. I’m glad you found lasting love, but you broke my heart. I take it as an apology,’ she added.

She thanked Billboard for the award, adding her daughter Willow, ‘nailed it,’ while her other child, four-year-old son Jamison is ‘nailing it.’

‘I love what I do and I love the people that I get to do it with. And we’re pretty good at what we do, but it wouldn’t matter if no one came to see us and play with us so all you guys out there and around the world, thank you for  coming out thank you for letting us feel together,’ she said to the crowd of hundreds outside the Microsoft Theater.

‘I cannot wait until we can do it again, so we can just sweat all over each other. And just this is an absolute honor. Dream big because what if it comes true thank you,’ she concluded.

Willow wasn’t the only youngster to steal the show on Sunday night, with Drake’s young son Adonis Graham, 3, tearing at heartstrings with an emotional moment on stage as he accepted the Artist of the Decade award.

Drake thanked everyone who helped him achieve his monumental success during, and while he was about to thank his ‘beautiful family,’ Adonis started walking off the stage with the award.

Drake picked up his son and said, ‘I want to dedicate this award to you,’ as his son started crying before his doting dad put the tyke down with a laugh.

The 2021 Billboard Music Awards kicked off with a fun-filled live performance by DJ Khaled, who was joined by H.E.R. and Migos to sing their hit We’re Going Crazy.

Unlike many of the performances over the past year and a half, the artists performed in front of actual fans outside of the Microsoft Theater in downtown Los Angeles, in what was likely one of the largest live crowds in months.

Host Nick Jonas revealed in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter last week that there will be between 500 and 600 fans in attendance, who were treated to the performance by Khaled, H.E.R. and Migos first on Sunday afternoon.
