Pit bull owner in viral video of woman being attacked by dog on NY subway is arrested on stalking

A pit bull owner who was arrested after his dpg latched onto a woman’s shoe on the subway in New York, has been arrested again on a stalking charge from 2017.

Ruben Roncallo, 53, was arraigned on charges of assault and reckless endangerment after the terrifying April 20 subway incident that was all caught on camera.

Roncallo was then re-arrested for a November, 2017, incident in which he allegedly showed up to a woman’s house in the Bronx, looking for her son, according to NBC4.

The woman claims that after she told Roncallo her son doesn’t live with her, he destroyed her door frame and stairwell banister.

He also allegedly showed up to her grandchild’s school, still looking for her son.

The woman alleges Roncallo texted her  her 585 times in three days and even made death threats.

In the shocking video from April 20, Roncallo is seen with his pit bull. The dog has his jaws firmly grasping a woman’s shoe, with her foot still inside.

Another woman is seen holding the victim’s leg as she yells: ‘Get the dog off of her!’

‘Call the police!’ another man is heard saying.

Finally, the dog’s owner tells the woman to take her shoe off. Once the woman’s shoe was removed, the dog let go of the shoe.

Its owner then threw the shoe at the commuters who witnessed the incident, striking one man in the leg.

Passengers kept yelling at the man, saying he was going to go to jail for the dog attack.

‘You’re going to jail now and he’s [the dog] is going to get euthanized,’ one man yells at the dog’s handler as he records the incident.

But according to the person recording the video, the woman attacked the man on the train, prompting the dog to then attack her.

‘The dog is not vicious. She did attack him,’ the man is heard saying. The incident happened on a 4 train.

Roncallo added to NBC4 similar sentiments: ‘She attacked me first, she attacked me first.’

‘He is a service dog,’ he said of the pit bull, which is now in the care of family members.

According to the MTA, non-service animals are supposed to be kept inside carriers to ride the trains so that they aren’t bothering other passengers.

It wasn’t clear if the owner had it in a carrier on the train before the fight broke out between the man and the woman.
