Pizza Express has delighted fans by announcing that it is transforming some of its most popular pizzas into lunchtime wraps.  

Customers can now enjoy everything they love about the high street chain’s pizza, all wrapped up in under 600 calories.

Made with famous pizza dough the wraps offer a lighter, handheld option for lunch and are available in the chain’s most popular options – including American Hot, for a spicy pepperoni fix; Padana, for gooey goats cheese goodness; Pollo Ad Astra, Sloppy Vegan and BBQ Burnt Ends.

The wraps launched nationwide in every Pizza Express pizzeria today and are available Monday-Friday until 4pm.

As well as dine-in, the wraps are available via delivery or collection for those in need of a delicious lunch wherever they wish to dine. 

All the wraps are offered with a choice from 5 new side salads, including Raw Slaw, Grains & Greens, Mixed Side Salad, Baby Caesar and Rucola as part of a lunch bundle for £9.50.

Jane Treasure, Food and Beverage Director at Pizza Express, told FEMAIL: ‘We are so excited to be launching our delicious new lunchtime pizza wraps. 

‘Three years in the making, we’ve worked hard with our Pizzaiolos, testing different recipes and taking inspiration from of our most popular pizzas and transformed them into beautiful pizza wraps perfectly complimented by fresh vibrant side salads.

It comes as the chain also opened the Pizza Express Club – its first ever loyalty scheme.

They officially opened to crown customers with Gold, Silver and Bronze ‘status’ and reward them every time they eat. 

Just signing up to be a member of the club on the new app gives you free Dough Balls – and Gold members get them for an entire year.

The club is ‘Expressly for Everyone’ and members can earn rewards when they check in to pizzerias or scan the QR codes on boxes when they collect food, get it delivered or buy at the supermarket.

Once the app has been downloaded, members can unlock Bronze status when they earn one pizza stamp, Silver comes at five stamps and Gold status is achieved when you reach 12 stamps.
