Pizza Hut launches a VERY patriotic menu for footy fans ahead of the State of Origin tonight – as hundreds of Aussie brands turn maroon and blue
- Football fans can take part in a ‘fan favouite’ competition at Pizza Hut
- The restaurant will top menu items in maroon and blue sauce for the series
- Each purchase will be added to the tally on the restaurant’s origin scoreboars
- Krispy Kreme and Dominos are also celebrating the State of Origin
Football fans have the opportunity to show their true colours throughout the State of Origin – thanks to Pizza Hut’s limited edition blue and maroon ranch sauce.
Dubbed ‘Sauce of Origin’ the restaurant’s campaign gives proud Blue Bloods and Queenslanders the opportunity to serve up support for their team.
Every time a football fan orders a Sauce of Origin menu item their team receives points on the restaurant’s ‘saucy stats’ scoreboard.

‘Aussies across the country can track how the states are backing each team in real time,’ a spokesperson said.
The winner of the ‘Sauce of Origin’ will prove which team is the ‘fan favourite’.
Pizza Hut Australia’s Director of Marketing and Digital, Simon Stocks says ‘Sauce of Origin is the perfect way to show support for your team’.
‘We’re excited to see which colour comes out on top and help Aussies share good times along the way.’
The Sauce of Origin is available in participating stores until July 13 and can be added to pizza, wings, meatballs and Schnittzas.
Queensland have come home with the State of Origin trophy 22 times in the last 40 years, while New South Wales have won on 16 occasions.
The states have tied twice, in 2002 and 1999.
Queensland had the competition’s longest winning streak from 2006 through to 2013 and only missed out on the shield once from 200 to 2017.
