But after a terrifying descent, the skillful pilot is eventually able to make a safe landing.

In October last year, terrifying footage emerged of a huge Airbus A380 struggling to land during a powerful storm in Dusseldorf.

The 500-seat Emirates plane, the largest commercial passenger aircraft in the world, was filmed lurching from side to side after its wheels had touched down on the tarmac.

The latest video from the airport was captured on January 19, a day after fierce storms killed at least four across northern Europe.

Across western Germany, air and train traffic came partially to a halt, some 100,000 people were left without electricity and schools were closed down.

The square in front of Cologne’s famous Cathedral was partially cordoned off Thursday as a precaution amid fears masonry could be blown loose.

Two people were injured when gusty winds toppled over their truck on Highway 555 near Bonn and at least four people were injured by falling trees in Dortmund, Ratingen and Heinsdorf. 

Another truck was almost blown off a highway bridge near Duisburg.
