A disgruntled plane passenger has detailed their outrage after being subjected to a very ‘aggressive’ act by a fellow traveler.

The anonymous Reddit user took to the Delta sub-thread to unravel the situation that occurred on an overseas flight from Atlanta, Georgia, to the Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris, France.

The passenger, who opted for premium seating, explained that after eating, they attempted to recline their seat to take a nap – but something unexpected happened.

‘[I was] met violently with repeated slamming into my seat and screams from behind me,’ they wrote.

‘I immediately pull the seat up, fearing something bad had happened.

‘Nope, just an angry fellow passenger annoyed because she was somehow entitled to the space.’

They added: ‘Mind you she was fully reclined at the time too.’

The passenger slowly tried to recline again but was ‘met with screams and more thrashing’ into their seat, adding that the ‘aggressive’ woman in the seat behind escalated the situation by ‘trying to dump her soda on my head.’

The original poster explained that the flight attendants stepped in at this point and committed to writing an official incident report.

But the passenger questioned in the thread whether they should take things any further.

‘I was told I could speak to the gate agent since this was borderline assault, although I didn’t experience injury.

‘The whole thing was unsettling. Not a relaxing flight,’ they disclosed.

After receiving responses on their post, they edited it, saying: ‘I really was trying to minimize the situation on the aircraft and just be done with it.

‘She was actually got under control by her companion who said “THAT IS ENOUGH!’ to her.’

Other Reddit users were just as shocked about the experience in the comments and urged the poster to pursue further action.

‘Sure, why not? They had their seat reclined and want to complain about your seat being down. It still baffles me that people get upset for someone reclining their seat that they paid for,’ someone wrote.

‘Seats recline for a reason and you’re entitled to recline if you so desire,’ another said.

‘Yes this happened to me once – angry man. It’s so unsettling when people get upset for no reason,’ a person shared.

‘Absolutely report it so it is in that passenger record. Ask what the policy is for banning unruly passengers,’ a user urged.

‘Easy to say but you really have to stand up to these people. They are used to bullying others to get what they want,’ someone stated.

One person wrote: ‘I wish flight attendants would announce at the beginning of the flight that all passengers are allowed to recline and that any retaliation for reclining, verbal or physical, will not be tolerated and can result in a fine, arrest or lifetime ban from the airline.’

Others argued that the passenger was allegedly assaulted by the person behind them.

‘You don’t have to be injured to be assaulted [battered]. The aggression and contact, especially if she poured a drink on you, is enough. That’s not even close to reasonable behavior,’ a user detailed.
