Playboi Carti ‘choked his pregnant girlfriend’ after ‘arguing about taking a paternity test’

Playboi Carti was arrested for allegedly choking his pregnant girlfriend after she wanted to speak to him about taking a paternity test.

The alleged attack took place on December 20 when she was 14 weeks pregnant, TMZ reported.

The woman claimed she was in a two year relationship with the rapper and living with him since July 2022 when the incident allegedly occurred.

Their conversation regarding a paternity test escalated to an argument then a physical attack – leading him to be arrested for felony aggravated assault.

The woman told police a witness tried to help stop the alleged fight and when she was able to escape Playboi, she ran to her car to escape.

He allegedly tried to pull her out of the car and put his hand over her mouth as she tried to push the car’s SOS feature to call the cops, the outlet reported.

She reportedly had visible injuries on her chest, back and neck and the rapper was arrested for felony aggravated assault.

Brian Steel, Playboi’s attorney, said: ‘Mr. Carter was falsely accused. Pursuant to my communications with the Fulton County District Attorney’s office, this case will be dismissed without any prosecution or litigation.’ 

Playboi Carti, born Jordan Carter, has a son named Onyx Kelly, three, with rapper Iggy Azalea, 32.

Iggy, born Amethyst Amelia Kelly, gave birth to Onyx in June 2020. The former lovebirds were in a relationship from December 2018 until they split in December 2019.

They met while he was touring overseas. 

In October 2020, Iggy wrote on Instagram: ‘Onyx is so loved by his dad and has always had both parents in his life from day one,’ just days after she said she was ‘raising [her] son alone’ and ‘not in a relationship.’ 

Two months later, Iggy said she wanted to ‘work on’ her relationship with Playboi, after she claimed he was unfaithful to her while they were togethe.

‘Having a baby even one you both want can be a big change, so I had been doing what I felt was best for my family. Every time I’ve said I’m happy to send a nanny with Onyx to Atlanta this man would say, “I only want to see him if you are there too, I want to see my FAMILY,’ via Us Weekly.

However, she later called him ‘trash’ for missing Christmas with Onyx: ‘Too bad you got an album out but can’t even come to Christmas with your own son,’ she wrote on Christmas Eve 2020 on her Twitter account.

‘Imagine not flying out your family on Christmas but you have the girl you cheated on my entire pregnancy at your album party and magically me and my son can’t come for Christmas any more? TRASH/’ 

‘I would never decide to do something of my own free will that meant missing a milestone moment with my son and if you do you’re trash,’ she tweeted.

‘Spend as much time as you can especially while he’s still a baby. Period!!! You can’t rewind time.’
