Australian Playboy model Sarah Harris has opened up about her battle with body confidence after feeling a constant pressure to be thin.
The 23-year-old recalled how she ‘genuinely’ saw a ‘fat’ woman every time she glimpsed at her own reflection in the mirror.
And her insecurities became so severe, the New Zealand-born blonde said she was even paranoid about the thought of sniffing carbohydrates.
Speaking about her previous struggles with body image, the glamour model shared before and after photographs of herself after she turned her life around.

The 23-year-old recalled how she ‘genuinely’ saw a ‘fat’ woman every time she glimpsed at her own reflection in the mirror
‘I was insecure and so paranoid about even sniffing a carb,’ she wrote to her 1.5 million Instagram followers.
‘I genuinely thought I was fat, I looked in the mirror and hated what I saw. If I ate even half a chocolate bar I would run to the bathroom and force myself to be sick.’
Ms Harris revealed how her past relationships led to her insecurities, she was taunted by others with remarks such as being labelled ‘fat’ and she was compared to other girls online.
‘Over the period of four or so years I started to hate myself more and believed what they were saying 100 per cent,’ she continued.

At her lightest, she weighed 49 kilograms at 179 centimetres tall.

‘Still sticking to super strict, fad diets which always resulted in me binging on muffins and chocolate in the supermarket car park,’ she said.
‘I was doing cardio five times a week and still had a f***ed up toxic relationship with food. Pathetic right? It actually got that bad though, and NOW it seems crazy.’
Looking at a photograph of herself when she weighed 56kg, she said: ‘You’ll think the photo is a before pic, but to me it still shows part of my mental and physical journey.’

Speaking about her current weight, Ms Harris said she now feels confident weighing 63 kilograms as she leads a healthier lifestyle.
I’m happy, healthy do next to no cardio and eat a balanced diet,’ she said.
‘I have my better half to support me, tell me I’m beautiful every day and he NEVER says what I “can’t” eat.
‘I’ve had so many messages from people saying their partners won’t “let them” eat dessert and I urge you to kick them to the curb.
‘I could not be more grateful to have someone stick by my side and be so persistent in helping my body image over the last year.’

She said it’s important to have at least one person’s support to be able to change your mindset.
‘If you don’t have that person, please don’t hesitate to reach out,’ she said.
‘I know it’s difficult, and it’s a long road. But it’s truly worth it in the end. I know some of you will hate me for this post, but I don’t care.
‘We’re all on our own journey, all at different chapters and if I can influence just 1 of you to change you opinion on food I’m happy.’
