Police arrest car passenger, 20, on suspicion of attempted murder after a ‘deliberate’ motorway crash with two children and a woman in the vehicle

  • The woman and man plus two children suffered minor injuries in the crash

A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after the car he was a passenger in crashed with a woman and two children inside. 

The incident happened near Leamington yesterday afternoon as the silver Peugeot 206 travelled down the M40 at the northbound slip road for Junction 15 for Warwickshire. 

Following the crash there was an altercation between the 20-year-old man and the woman.

Police have confirmed the woman and two children suffered minor injuries.

The man also received minor injuries in the crash.

Officers have confirmed that the 20-year-old man involved was from London.

Detectives Warwickshire Police at said they were treating the collision as a ‘deliberate act’.

The police has put out an appeal for any witnesses to the crash, or the altercation.

Detective Inspector Dave Andrews said: ‘At this time we are treating the collision as a deliberate act.

‘We’re keen to speak to anyone who saw the collision or an altercation between a man and a woman after they exited the car.

‘I’d also ask anyone who has dash cam footage of the collision or the moments leading up to it to save it and make contact with police.’
