Police arrested murder suspect, | Daily Mail Online

Cops have used Google Street View to track down a murder suspect who ran over a 28-year-old man before fleeing the scene.

Ray Jasso, 28, was run down and killed at a birthday party in the 18200 block of Emerald Court, in Montgomery County, on July 2.

Jasso was able to capture video of the attack before he died, showing a suspect driving an SUV backing over him in the middle of a cul de sac.

Cops have used this Google Street View photo to track down a murder suspect who ran over a 28-year-old man before fleeing the scene. The murder weapon, a Chevy SUV, was seen in the driveway – the same that ran over Ray Jasso

The cellphone footage showed the SUV then drive over Jasso again, as it pulled forward, dragging his body for some time until he eventually broke free. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital a short time later.

Cops, who reviewed the footage, ran the plates of the early 2000s model Chevy SUV, and traced it to an address in the 600 block of Frisco Street in Houston.

They searched the address in Google Maps, they were surprised to find a picture of the murder weapon sitting in the driveway.

When they turned up to the property, they found that same car – this time with damage to its rear brake lights, rear panels, and front.

After a closer look, they also found ‘biological’ evidence on the vehicle from it hitting Jasso.

A relative living at the property, told police that while the SUV belonged to his father, the only person who drove it regularly was his brother, Raul Najera, 25.

Investigators who searched the home then found a shirt belonging to Najera that matched the shirt of the driver in the cellphone video.

Najera was arrested and charged with first-degree felony murder. A grand jury indicted him on that charge Tuesday.

Detectives found Najera had been at the birthday party – although he hadn’t been invited –  where he’d got into a fight with the homeowners after the asked him to leave.

He’d climbed into the SUV and backed down the driveway, hitting an exit gate and pulled into the cul de sac where he backed over Jasso.

Najera is currently being held in Montgomery County Jail with a $500,000 bond.
