A million dollar stash of diamonds, emeralds, rubies and sapphires has been found by police inside a thermos.
Officers came across the gemstones and a gun while searching a car for drugs on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.
The thermos was found inside a handbag during a drug search of a 33-year-old woman’s car in Yandina in June.

The stones, which number close to 100, are professionally packaged, One gem alone is valued at around $50,000 dollars.
The woman was charged with possession of cannabis, failing to dispose a syringe and the unlawful possession of a firearm.
She told police the handbag belonged to another woman.

Police tracked down the bag’s owner, a 30-year-old woman, who is known to the other woman.
She has been assisting police with their inquiries. Police have also questioned Sunshine Coast gemstone dealers.
