Dramatic CCTV footage has emerged showing the moment a woman was arrested after her mother was stabbed to death.
Police and emergency services were called to a house on Pegler Avenue in South Granville, western Sydney about 6.15 on Thursday morning after reports of a 61-year-pld woman being stabbed.
The woman was stabbed in the chest, it is understood, and died shortly afterwards.
A 33-year-old woman, believed to be the victim’s daughter, was arrested a short distance away by police.

Detective Superintendent Matt Appleton said police arrived at the scene and attempted to perform CPR on the victim as paramedics arrived.
The woman was stabbed ‘a number of times’ and died a short time later.
Mr Appleton said he expected the matter would be before the court later on Thursday.
He said there were other people in the house during the attack, believed to be related to both women.
The family members are being interviewed by police.
He said police will investigate the daughter’s mental health and consider if there was a history of domestic violence.
‘Domestic incidents are very, very sad and a very, very difficult thing for police to deal with,’ Mr Appleton said.

Ambulance and police arrived at the scene and a section of the street was cordoned off.

A woman living nearby said she woke up to screams from the property.
‘I just woke up to the screaming and I came outside on the balcony and I saw a woman running from down the straight saying that somebody was trying to hurt her,’ the woman told Seven News.
