Police pull over driver who was missing an entire tyre

  • Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire traffic police shared the photo
  • They pulled the driver over because they were driving in the wrong direction
  • But they were stunned to discover that the car was missing an entire front tyre

Traffic police from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire force were shocked after discovering a blue Mercedes they pulled over was missing an entire tyre.

The police force tweeted a photo of the car they stopped for driving the wrong way up a slip road on the A421.

To their shock, they also discovered the driver was driving without a tyre on the Mercedes’ front wheel,  running on just its rims.

Traffic police from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire force tweeted a photo of a car they stopped after discovering it was missing an entire tyre

Officers stopped the car for going the wrong way up a slip but soon realised that there was a bigger problem with the Mercedes.

They tweeted a photo of the rims the car was running on.

Alongside the photo, the force wrote: ‘Apparently it’s a design feature and perfectly safe to drive down the A421 and then the wrong way up the road.’

The police force seemed less than impressed with the excuse apparently given by the driver

The police force implied that the driver had defended themselves by saying the rims were a ‘design feature’.

Unsurprisingly, they seemed less than impressed with the excuse.

A number of other Twitter users agreed with the police force, criticising the driver.

Daniel Simpson tweeted: ‘I sense points and a fine coming and maybe a ban if they [are] really lucky.’

Andrew Murray said: ‘Anyone who does this should get a ban and be forced to take a retest.’
