Police officers in North Carolina shot and killed a man who had opened fire in a hospital.
Authorities say police were called to Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center in Charlotte at around 11.30pm Sunday about a man who had fired several shots in the hospital.
The man was armed when officers found him. Police said in a statement that they felt ‘threatened by the man’s actions’ and fired multiple shots, killing him.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene but his name has not yet been released.
Authorities said no one else was injured.
The officers involved have been placed on administrative leave, which is standard procedure.
‘An encounter ensued, during which, the officers, felt threatened by the man’s actions and fired several rounds striking him,’ the Huntersville Police Department said in a statement Monday according to Huntersville Patch.
‘The man involved was pronounced deceased at the scene.’
