A man has been arrested after another man was found stabbed to death at a home in Sydney’s inner-west.

Police alleged it was a drug deal that went wrong. 

Emergency services were called to the Kembla Street home in Croydon Park shortly after 5pm on Monday following a concern for welfare report.

Police found the body of a man believed to be aged in his 50s with horrific injuries, including stab wounds. He couldn’t be revived at the scene

Another man, 32, who was arrested at the scene and taken to Burwood Police Station, where inquiries continue. 

No charges have yet been laid.

A crime scene has been established and investigations commenced into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Dozens of officers remain at the scene.

‘What I can say is this is a gruesome crime. The man’s injuries are horrific,’ Superintendent Christine McDonald told reporters.

‘And what we know from very preliminary investigations is that this, we believe this is a drug deal gone horribly wrong. However, that may change as we proceed through the investigation steps.’
