The driver of the second lorry and the driver of the first car to hit Ms Kalandyk have spoken to police, but neither has been arrested.

Many witnesses have come forward and spoken to police, including the driver of a third car.

‘Even though we have traced all the vehicles that we believe were involved, I continue to appeal for anyone who witnessed the collision and the moments afterwards to contact us immediately,’ said Detective Sergeant Alastair Middleton, who is investigating the crash.

A post-mortem examination revealed her provisional cause of death to be from multiple injuries.

Navin Bagan, 37, who works at the nearby Tulse Hill Cafe, described the hit-and-run drivers as ‘heartless’.

She said: ‘They just left her to die – it is not right.’

Acting Detective Sergeant Alastair Middleton said: ‘We are grateful for all those witnesses who have come forward, but we continue to appeal for anyone who was passing and witnessed the collision and the moments afterwards to contact us immediately.

‘Inquiries are continuing to trace the two outstanding vehicles involved. A number of actions, including the recovery of local CCTV footage are in hand. I would urge the two drivers we are yet to trace, come forward and speak with my team.’
