Popular Married At First Sight bride is set to abruptly QUIT the show due to ‘medical emergency’

A popular Married At First Sight bride sent production into a tailspin after she was forced to take a break from filming due to a medical procedure.

Daily Mail Australia can reveal Lauren Dunn will miss this week’s dinner parties and commitment ceremony after she flew home to Perth for an emergency surgery.

The sudden departure of Lauren, 32, sent shockwaves through the production team, forcing them to halt filming for several days.

‘I actually woke up on the weekend before and my arm was like completely purple, really swollen… I had to fly back to Perth, so I could have keyhole surgery to remove the clot and missed out on a week of filming,’ Lauren explained.

She said she found solace in the support of her partner Jonathan McCullough, who joined her in Perth for Home Stays during her recovery.

‘Jono flew to Perth the following days, which was great… I was so happy to have him in Perth and he gets to stay at my house and get to know me and my environment a bit better,’ she revealed.

Lauren’s absence posed a significant challenge for the show’s producers as she is one of the most popular participants on the show.

‘There was no show without her,’ one source emphasised. ‘Everything was sort of on hold until she got back.’

Producers were left scrambling to find alternative plans, ultimately opting to film ‘filler episodes’ with the other couples while Lauren recuperated.

Despite her absence, Lauren remained invested in the show’s proceedings, even offering guidance to Jonathan for the upcoming dinner party.

‘I was fully coaching him about walking into that dinner party alone… I’m like, ‘okay, this is what you need to do,” she recounted.

Lauren when on to joke that Jonathan probably would have enjoyed a more peaceful evening without her presence.

‘You might probably have a more peaceful time without me being there screaming and yelling and carrying on,’ she quipped.

Married At First Sight continues on Monday at 7.30pm on Channel Nine.
