Season 1 was released on October 23, 2019, and featured judges Cardi B, T.I., and Chance the Rapper.

The trio selected 30 contestants who auditioned in Los Angeles, New York, Atlanta, and Chicago.

Other than rap battles, the rappers were forced to complete tasks involving songwriting, performances, and homemade music videos.

The winner is not guaranteed a record deal, but they do walk away with a whopping $250,000 cash prize.

Season 2 contestants will likely participate in similar tasks with the new judges.

All three of them were hyped up in the Netflix announcement where DJ Khaled called hip-hop ‘a lifestyle.’

‘First impression is everything… It all comes down to this one moment,’ Ludacris stated.

Latto said her opinion holds ‘a little weight’ since she was a reality show contestant back in 2016.
