Two lucky Australians have scooped the division 1 jackpot in Thursday night’s Powerball draw, sharing a whopping $120million prize.
The jackpot is the second biggest ever – surpassed only by a $150million prize in 2019 which was split by three winners.
The winning numbers for Powerball draw 1345 on February 22 are 6, 15, 9, 27, 32, 28, 33 and the Powerball is 8.
One of the winners is from NSW/ACT, and the other is from Western Australia.
The jackpot soared to this level after there were no division one winning entries during the past six Powerball draws.
The winning numbers from Thursday night’s draw are 6, 15, 9, 27, 32, 28, 33 and the Powerball is 8.
Each of the punters will win $63,309,056, while 36 winners have scooped the $77,385 division 2 prize.
The Lott spokesperson Matt Hart said Australian lottery history could have been rewritten this week if one person took home the top prize.
‘If there’s just one Powerball division one winner this week, they will instantly become Australia’s biggest lottery winner ever,’ he said.
‘This Powerball prize has captivated the nation, and I’m sure many Aussies are happily contemplating how it could transform their lives.
The current titleholder for the largest jackpot winner is a Sydney nurse who won more than $107 million in 2019.
Up to half of Aussie adults entered into the draw.
The Lott has also revealed the numbers which are most frequently drawn, with number 17 by far the front-runner with 56 draws.
Of the 14 winning tickets last year seven were bought in NSW, four in Queensland, two in Victoria and one in Western Australia.
Two thirds of the winners bought their tickets from a licensed lottery outlet and 10 were QuickPick winners.
Half of last year’s winner had bought a PowerHit entry which guarantees a Powerball number.
