Pregnant Kate Ferdinand displays her growing bump in a glamorous silver dress

Kate Ferdinand announced she’s expecting her second child with former footballer husband Rio last week – six months after suffering a heartbreaking miscarriage. 

On Monday, the TV personality, 28, displayed her growing baby bump in a shimmering silver midi dress as she head on a date night with Rio, 44.

She elevated her height in a pair of pale blue stilettos , while wrapping up in a satin black blazer. 

Kate carried a small silver shoulder bag which matched her jewellery as she posed for the social media snap.  

She opted for a bronzed makeup palette which accentuated her natural features, while her blonde locks were scraped back into a ponytail.  

Later in the evening, Kate took to her Instagram Stories and shared a funny snaps with Rio, which showed her heels in her hands as she wrote: ‘But the shoes didn’t last all night’

Kate, who is also stepmother to husband Rio’s children Lorenz, 16, Tate, 14, and Tia, 11, from his first marriage, welcomed son Cree with the retired footballer in December 2020.

She later suffered a miscarriage in July 2022, shortly after discovering she had fallen pregnant with a second child.

Discussing her current pregnancy during the latest episode of her Blended podcast, the former TOWIE star admitted she was relieved to finally confirm the news after weeks of apprehension.

She told listeners: ‘I’m just so excited that I can share this with you all because I’ve been a bit nervous to share it because of my last miscarriage. It just makes the whole situation a little bit more anxious. You’re a little bit more worried and you’re really hoping that it’s going to be OK.

‘Although we told our family and friends there’s still that element of doubt and worry and you’re a little bit more cautious. But I’m just grateful that I can be free and honest and let you guys know what’s going on.’

Kate also revealed she broke the news to her three step-children before Christmas, when it became obvious that she was pregnant.

She explained: ‘We actually told the kids on Christmas Eve – we put it in their Christmas boxes. We told them at Christmas because I like a little drink over Christmas dinner and the clothes were getting a bit tight.

‘My body stretched a little bit faster this time, and Tate, about four weeks ago – I think Rio was at the World Cup – made a big announcement and said “I think you’re pregnant.” I was a bit flustered and didn’t want to tell the kids, just in case.’

Kate originally confirmed her pregnancy on Sunday morning, with the former TOWIE star revealing a prominent baby bump in a short video clip.

Captioning the post, underscored with the Minnie Riperton track Loving You, she wrote: ‘We’ve been praying for you.’

Her latest news prompted an inevitable wave of supportive comments from celebrity friends, with heavily pregnant Molly-Mae Hague writing: ‘Congratulations Kate.’

Elsewhere former TOWIE co-star Billie Shepherd wrote: ‘Huge congratulations darling,’ while Georgia Kousoulou added: ‘Awww so so happy for you.’
