Hot topics: President Donald Trump’s daughter-in-law discussed his potential political opponents in the 2020 election and their family’s visit to the UK
President Donald Trump’s daughter-in-law and campaign senior adviser sat down with host Stuart Varney to discuss his potential opponents in the upcoming 2020 presidential election, and she claimed they aren’t worried about any of the 23 Democrats who are running.
‘Honestly, no one has knocked my socks off so far,’ she said. ‘I know that’s a common answer. I always say I think this president is going to easily win re-election no matter who the Democrats run as their candidate.’
Lara went on to take a few jabs at former Vice President Joe Biden, who appears to be the current front runner for the Democratic ticket.
‘He had eight years under the Obama administration to make some great changes in this country,’ she said. ‘Not a lot came out of that. In fact, our country got worse under the Obama administration.’
Her father-in-law went as far as questioning Biden’s ‘mental capacity’ on Friday, claiming he doesn’t ‘have what it takes’ to become president, and Lara seemed to agree.

Paying tribute: On Friday afternoon, she celebrated Trump’s 73rd birthday by sharing a series of photos of herself with her father-in-law
‘Well, I mean, maybe there’s something to that,’ she said. ‘All I know is that whenever you have been a vice president for as long as Joe Biden has and has served this country seemingly for 50 years and been in politics and you don’t have a whole lot to show for it…
‘Yet, here’s President Donald Trump who has been in politics for two and half years, and only as our president, and you see what he’s been able to do. We’re not nervous about Joe Biden. We’re not nervous about any of them.’
Lara even claimed that people come up to her on the streets of Manhattan to say they are Trump supporters, which the conservative political commentator found a bit hard to believe based on his own experiences in the Big Apple.
‘I have to go around in a baseball hat and sunglasses,’ he said, adding: ‘I do, actually.’

‘It was amazing,’ she said. ‘It was such a special trip. Never in my lifetime did I ever think I would be able to go to the palace to meet the Queen, to be a part of something like that, and there we were.’
The former television producer insisted that the president and monarch ‘got along great’ during their visit.
‘I think she was thrilled to have him there. I think she spent a lot of time preparing beforehand,’ she said.
‘I talked to several people that work at the palace. They said she was part of every single detail of the president’s visit, really wanted to make sure things went well for the president and first lady, and we were honored.’
