Premier League flop puts his kit on sale for £300 on Facebook Marketplace

Premier League flop puts his kit on sale for £300 on Facebook Marketplace… after disastrous spell in England that saw him play just eight times in three seasons

  • A Premier League midfielder has put his kit on sale for £300 on Facebook
  • He had a disastrous time in England, playing just eight times across three years
  • He still has a year left at the English club, but looks likely to move on this summer

Everton midfielder Jean-Philippe Gbamin is looking to sell his kit on Facebook following his disastrous spell on Merseyside.

Gbamin arrived in England in 2019 for a fee in the region of £25m from Bundesliga outfit Mainz, with the Toffees hoping he could fill the void left behind by Idrissa Gana Gueye after his move to French giants PSG.

However, the Ivorian suffered a serious hamstring injury within weeks of joining the club that ruled him out for the majority of the 2019-20 season, and his luck with injuries did not improve much after that.

Everton fans hardly got the chance to see Gbamin over the next three years, as he played just eight times for the team, with only six of those coming in the Premier League.

He was sent out on loan to Trabzonspor for the 2022-23 season, and it appears that his Everton career may now be over after his shirts were spotted up for sale on Facebook by eagle-eyed fans.

Alongside a picture of Gbamin’s shirts, tracksuit tops and socks, the caption read: ‘Everton Football Club Clothes Bundle – Brand New and Match Worn Shirts £300’.

One fan could not believe it, reacting to the post by tweeting: ‘Gbamin selling all his gear on Facebook hahahah’.

Gbamin is due to return to Everton this summer after making 24 appearances in Turkey last term.

But his future at the club looks very uncertain, especially after putting his kit up for sale, as he prepares to enter the final year of his contract at Goodison Park.

Gueye is now back at Everton, having re-signed from PSG last summer, and it is hard to see Gbamin forcing his way back into Sean Dyche’s plans for the 2023-24 campaign.

Everton will be hoping for a much better year after only avoiding relegation on the final day last season, and look set to start their next campaign without Gbamin in their ranks.
