Preschoolers help their teacher’s boyfriend propose

It’s hard to say no to a group of adorable children.

Dallin Knecht, 26, enlisted the help of his girlfriend’s preschool students to pull of a surprise proposal on November 3.

Knecht set up a fake performance review between between Sara Trigero, 27, and her boss. When she was leaving, she walked out onto the quad and saw the group of children.

Knecht got down on one knee and held out a ring. Together with the help of Trigero’s students, the group said: ‘Say yes’

‘My boss pretended like I had a meeting with her to talk about my performance,’ she said to ABC News.

‘While I went out and had my meeting, they set up everything outside. But it wasn’t a real meeting at all. It was totally pretend. Right when I walked out the doors, I saw them.’

The group of two and three-year-olds held a sign that read: ‘Sara, say yes’.

‘Sara cares a lot about the kids,’ Knecht said. ‘She’s there full time, spending eight-plus hours a day with them, and loves them a lot.’

‘I was so overwhelmed. I’ve never been surprised like that in my life,’ she said. ‘I was expecting a normal day and it was so much more than that.’

Knecht is a student at the University of Nevada-Reno and Trigero is a teacher at the Child and Family Research Center at the university.

The pair met working at a restaurant in Reno and have been dating for two years.

Photographer Lauren Guffey was there to capture the moment.
