Priceless Steve Irwin moment goes viral 17 years after his death: ‘The world needs him right now’

He was the world famous Aussie wildlife conservationist known for his high-speed energy and next-level enthusiasm.

And now a priceless Steve Irwin TV interview has gone viral, 17 years after his tragic death.

In the clip, Steve is asked by host Rove MacManus whether he was a coffee drinker during an appearance on the TV host and comedian’s show Rove Live back in 2002.

‘Heck no!,’ Steve says in his typical over-the-top style. ‘It would blow the top of my head off!”

‘I tried it once, it was ten years ago,’ he continued over the sound of raucous laughter from the studio audience. ‘And I haven’t recovered yet.’

Shared to Instagram, the video has attracted an outpouring of love and affection for the famed conservationist, who died in 2006 after being stung in the chest by a stingray.

‘What a guy,’ gushed one fan.

Meanwhile another joked: ‘Cocaine once tried Steve Irwin’ while another wrote simply: ‘The world needs Steve Irwin right now.’

‘I am inclined to believe Steve was the top 10 most likeable guy in history,’ said another.

‘Ripper, miss that fella so much, loved his enthusiasm and his passion for wildlife,’ said one fan, while another added: ‘Steve had natural energy, he didn’t need coffee, coffee needed Steve.’

He rose to fame as ‘The Crocodile Hunter’ and a conservationist and soon took over Australia Zoo in Queensland from his father Bob in 1992.

Steve’s widow Terri took control of the world famous attraction after his tragic death in 2006.

The pair had two children, Bindi, 25, and Robert, 19 who have both followed in their parents footstep into conservation and documentary filmmaking.
