Prince Charles visits Westmorland County Show in Cumbria

He’s known for his love of organic farming and with such a keen interest in agriculture, Prince Charles looked right at home as he visited the Westmorland County Show in Milnthorpe, Cumbria today.

The royal, 68, chatted to locals as he toured the show, which features livestock displays, horse jumping and wrestling, as well as craft lessons from the WI.

But while most were casually dressed for the occasion, Charles put on a dapper display for his day in the countryside, donning a grey suit with a burgundy spotted tie.

In April 2015, the royal visited Westmorland County Agricultural Society to learn about its educational activities and meet officials and volunteers.

Chief executive of Westmorland County Agricultural Society, Christine Knipe, told the North West Evening Mail: ‘During this visit, we invited His Royal Highness to return one day, so the fact that he will be with us again to experience the Show fills the Society with great pride.

We are absolutely delighted that His Royal Highness will be attending the show this year and we are sure he will enjoy his day with us.’

The engagement comes hot on the heels of another very important visit from his possible future daughter-in-law.

A report by Us Weekly magazine has suggested that Prince Harry took his girlfriend to Birkhall to visit Charles and Camilla in early September, after their romantic getaway to Botswana.

And, according to the magazine’s sources, the Suits star, 36, also met the Queen at Balmoral during the visit.

‘It went well,’ a source close to Harry reportedly told the magazine. ‘It’ll no doubt be the first of many encounters.

Harry apparently decided it was the perfect time to pay a visit to his father and grandmother as he hadn’t yet been to Scotland where the Queen is usually joined by family members as she enjoys her summer holiday.
