The book says: ‘Harry was delightfully surprised by Meghan’s down-to-earth attitude.

‘While camping she cleaned her face with baby wipes and happily wandered into the woodlands if she needed a bathroom break.’

Harry, 35, and Meghan, 39, insist they had no input on the controversial publication, and were not spoken to directly by Scobie, who has close ties to the Duchess, but the book does contain intimate details from the beginning of their romance.

It adds that Harry enjoyed a classic bacon and egg breakfast on the glamping trip to Meno A Kwena, where they stayed in a £1,500-a-night tent complete with en-suite bathroom and private terrace.

His future wife, however, opted to begin the day with a bowl of fruit and yoghurt, with her morning ritual traditionally consisting of hot water with lemon followed by steel cut oats with bananas and agave syrup.

She is said to have encouraged the prince to adopt a healthier lifestyle right from the start of their relationship, introducing him to yoga and meditation.

The book claims Harry was impressed that she only brought one backpack for the entire trip, which included sunscreen to protect her fair-skinned new partner.

Meghan is said to have told a friend after returning from Africa ‘just completely spellbound’ that ‘I’ve never felt that safe…close to someone in such a short amount of time’.

The book also explores the couple’s first date, which they enjoyed at a luxury suite at Soho’s Dean Street Townhouse in the company of mutual friends.

Shortly after, Harry described her as ‘the most beautiful woman I’ve seen in my life’, as the pair then met again at the same venue the following night, but this time just the two of them, where they flirted throughout the evening before he went home alone.

The book says: ‘Still their chemistry had been electric throughout the meal as they both flirted. A touch of an arm here, direct eye contact there.’

This week it was revealed that Prince Charles has remained in regular contact with his son despite being being hurt by revelations in the upcoming biography.

The biography offers an insights into Harry and Meghan’s relationships with his brother and sister-in-law, his father and the Royal Family as a whole.

However, the Prince of Wales, who was said to have been hurt by some of the claims in the book, has been in regular contact with Prince Harry in the hope that the door can be kept open for a return, the Sun reports.
