Meanwhile, with Sunday’s Super Bowl set to take place in Prince’s hometown of Minnesota, many fans are hoping for a tribute during the half-time show.

Justin Timberlake is performing, and according to TMZ, he will be joined by a hologram of the artist formerly known as Prince.

Sources told the site he has ‘a trick up his sleeve’, but that no ‘NSYNC or Janet Jackson cameos are planned.

Earlier this week Timberlake irked some fans by hosting a pre-Super Bowl party at the famous teetotaller’s Paisley Park home, where alcohol was served.

Prince died in April 2016 from an accidental drug overdose, aged 57.
