Prince Pavlos of Greece shares sweet message to Marie-Chantal on their 29th wedding anniversary saying ‘I still feel exactly as I did the day we got married’ – as he attends Wimbledon with daughter Princess Olympia

Crown Prince Pavlos of Greece has shared a sweet message to his wife Princess Marie-Chantal to mark their 29th wedding anniversary this week.

The couple wed in 1995, in a spectacular ceremony that made for the largest gathering of royals in London since Queen Elizabeth II’s wedding to Prince Philip in 1946.

29 years on, and their marriage has gone from strength to strength, welcoming five children together.

On Monday, Pavlos, 57, and Marie-Chantal, 55, shared heartwarming messages to each other on social media, showing that their union is as enviable as ever.

The Crown Prince took to Instagram to pen: ‘Today we celebrate 29 years of happy marriage – thank you for our wonderful children and our lives.

He shared a loved-up picture of the couple sat together on some steps as they marked the special occasion.

Sharing the same image, Marie wrote: ‘Happy anniversary to my one and only!’

However the messages will likely have been sent from far apart, as Pavlos joined his daughter Princess Olympia at Wimbledon tennis on Monday, the day of their anniversary.

Businesswoman Marie, who is worth £2billion in her own right, was unable to attend, according to Hola! Magazine.

Pavlos and Olympia enjoyed some quality father-daughter time at the All England Club, attending a Ralph Lauren dinner and witnessing Greece’s Maria Sakkari triumph in the Ladies’ Singles.

‘Opening day at Wimbledon. Thank you @olympiagreece for bringing your Papa with you,’ he wrote on his Instagram story.

Princess Olympia herself looked radiant in a strappy blue dress decorated with small white flowers – draping a matching white jumper over her shoulders.

Chic Olympia, who studied Fashion Business and Marketing at New York University, was also pictured next to Cara Delevingne’s sister Poppy.

Poppy, who recently went public with her new boyfriend, Sienna Miller’s ex Archie Keswick at BST Hyde Park, grew close to the former Greek royals during her time dating Constantine Alexios,

Poppy split up with her ‘toyboy’, Prince Constantine Alexios of Greece and Denmark, 25, last December. The Greek royal, affectionately known as Tino, is Prince William’s godson.

But her relations with the royals clearly hasn’t changed – as she was pictured chatting with Olympia and cheering on the players.

Crown Prince Pavlos is the eldest son of Constantine II, the former King of Greece, who died at the start of last year, and he is also the godson of King Charles.

Despite Pavlos being the Crown Prince, he will never take the throne because the monarchy was deposed and scrapped in 1973.

Meanwhile Marie is worth an incredible £2billion even without her royal connections – as her father is Duty Free king Robert Miller, who made his money by setting up a lucrative hedge fund.

She began a degree in History of Art at NYU in 1993, and it was in the city that she met Prince Pavlos for the first time.

The couple met on a blind date set up by New York investment banker Alecko Papamarkou, a mutual friend who was convinced they would hit it off.

‘We clicked,’ the Princess told Vanity Fair in 2008. ‘It was love at first sight. I knew that he was the person I would marry.’

Their wedding was the largest gathering of royals in London since Queen Elizabeth’s wedding to Prince Philip in 1946, as they tied the knot at St Sophia’s Cathedral in London in 1995.

Among those who attended were the royal families of Britain, Spain, Sweden, Belgium, Romania, Jordan and Bulgaria.

The couple moved to Manhattan, where they had Olympia, before moving to London in 2002 so their children could have a European education.

The couple now have five children: daughter Olympia, 27, and four sons: Constantine, Achileas, Odysseas, and Aristidis.

The family are based all around the world. Olympia lives in Notting Hill, Pavlos and Marie-Chantal spend most of their time in New York, Aristidis also lives in the US and Constantine often flies between American and the UK.

Currently the family is recognised as ‘of Glucksburg’, relating to their Spanish and German heritage, rather than their Greek one.

Responding to their anniversary post, royal fans wrote: ‘Happy anniversary!’

‘Great photograph. Your family and you are more and more loved. Always be healthy and loved. We are very proud as Greeks of your family.’
