Prince William and Prince George’s identical mannerisms in Rugby World Cup clip sends royal fans wild

Royal fans have gone wild over a video of Prince William and his 10-year-old son Prince George at the Rugby World Cup, in which they appear to be almost entirely in sync with wach other.

In a snippet posted to X, formerly known as Twitter, the charming father and son duo can be seen copying each other’s hand and step movements while attending a meeting with rugby dignitaries in Marseille, France, ahead of Wales’s clash with Argentina on Saturday.

The second and third in line to the throne travelled to the the Stade de Marseille to cheer on Wales , but unfortunately it ended in heartbreak when the Dragons lost 29-17 and they crashed out of the tournament at the quarter final stage.

But royal fans have been gripped by the clip which was filmed ahead of the match, when the father and son seem to mirror each other’s movements, while dressed in near-identical outfits.

Reacting to the sweet interactions, fans have labelled the young royal ‘adorable’ and speculated that William might be ‘training the future monarch’ for his future as a senior royal.

X user @RoyallyBelle_ described the special moment on the social media platform: ‘Watching Prince William and Prince George meeting representatives of the Welsh and Argentinian rugby associations before the match.

‘Their mannerisms are so similar! Really lovely to see William guiding his son and gently introducing him to the world stage’.

The video unfolds with a confident George leading the way ahead of his father, as he steps in to offer a thorough handshake to one of the representatives.

George was a mini-me of William, with both wearing matching navy suits, red ties and smart black leather shoes.

Proving he was born for the role, he glided with ease and even stepped backwards for a short moment to allow his father to follow in his own footsteps and offer a handshake too.

As the pair made small talk with their guests, they began to unwittingly simulate each other’s actions, all the way down to their twinning smiles.

The pait first clapped their hands together simultaneously, before continuing to subtly pace from side-to-side.

And as they moved on to their next guest, they even appeared to emulate the same swagger in their walks as they stepped forward – again in unison.

George, future Prince of Wales, and his father, patron of the Welsh Rugby Football Union, sadly witnessed Wales being knocked out of the tournament with a 29-17 defeat.

William, who was pictured raising his hands during a tense moment in the match, wrote a personal message of support on social media.

‘Commiserations @WelshRugbyUnion, sorry that it wasn’t to be this year but you can be very proud of all you have achieved and I know you’ll come back even stronger’ he said.

He offered his congratulations to the Argentinians, saying: ‘Congratulations @LosPumas – best of luck. W’.

The royal pair were greeted by World Rugby chairman Sir Bill Beaumont, France 2023 deputy chief executive Martine Nemecek and Welsh Rugby Union president Gerald Davies.

George was the first to be welcomed by Sir Bill, stepping forward to shake the former England rugby player’s hand and say hello.

William laughed and chatted with the former England captain, telling him: ‘Nice to see you. I thought I’d bring George along tonight’.

Introducing his son to Davies, William remarked: ‘Gerald wore the jersey for Wales and was one of the best players ever. Bill played for England’.

Pointing to Davies and then to Sir Bill, William joked: ‘He was very fast and he was quite sluggish’.

George and William were sat in the Presidential Box to watch the game.
