Prince William lauded by NFL fans for ‘canon’ of an arm as he shows off impressive throwing ability

Prince William may be the heir apparent to the British throne – but it seems he’s also a potential quarterback in the making.

His Royal Highness showed off his surprisingly strong throwing arm at an NFL Foundation event in London this week, which has left fans very impressed on social media.

As well as posing alongside former rugby star and Jacksonville Jaguars recruit Louis Rees-Zammit, William got involved in a throwing drill and even ran some plays with some of the young children in attendance.

NFL fans were quick to heap praise on the British royal after footage of his passing ability surfaced on social media, with some joking that he could start at quarterback for certain teams in the league.

One quoted a clip of his throw on X and said: ‘He has a canon for an arm’.

Another commented: ‘This is impressive for sure’.

A third joked: ‘He could get a game for the Jags’.

‘Looks like we’ve found the next QB for Team UK!’ wrote a foruth.

While one quipped: ‘Wonder if the Giants or Panthers or Broncos, or SeaHawks, or Cowboys, or Raiders, or Browns, or Patriots(the irony), are interested’.

William took part in the NFL event four months after he met Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce in London.

Travis met the English prince at one of girlfriend Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour shows at Wembley Stadium over the summer, with the trio and William’s children Prince George, 11, and Princess Charlotte, 9, posing for a famous selfie together backstage after the concert.

A few months on from her NFL-star son’s royal encounter, Kelce’s mom Donna, 71, revealed he told her that crossing paths with his Royal Highness was ‘one of the coolest things’.

However, she also opened up on his modest reaction to being in the company of such a high-profile figure.

Donna told Extra about Travis’ thoughts on meeting Prince William: ‘He said that “When you meet people like that, you know when the royals come in or Paul McCartney or Hugh Grant… somebody’s in the suite, you’re just like, who in this picture doesn’t fit? Why am I here and why am I even allowed to talk to these individuals? It just doesn’t seem right.”‘

She then added: ‘But I think he’s handling it pretty well, he’s a pretty friendly guy.’

Travis also discussed his interaction with the English Prince on his New Heights podcast over the summer.

‘Dude, he was the coolest motherf****r,’ he told brother Jason. ‘He was awesome. They were an absolute delight to meet.’

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end also admitted he didn’t know how to greet Prince William and his children when they first met.

‘[I] wasn’t sure if I was supposed to, like, bow to them, curtsy, just be an American idiot and shake their hand,’ he added.
