Princess Margaret’s hunky grandson Arthur Chatto is set to become the first royal to join the Marines.
The 22-year-old son of Lady Sarah Chatto, 57, has been accepted to train as an officer in the Royal Marines and told the Queen last week, reports The Sun.
Her Majesty is said to be ‘pleased and proud’ at her great nephew’s news, while Prince Edward – who joined the gruelling commando course in 1986 but dropped out after four months – has also ‘been very supportive’.
Arthur, a personal trainer and model, reportedly ventured out on 20 mile hikes and went wild camping in the Scottish Highlands in preparation for the training while visiting the Queen and family at Balmoral earlier this month.

A royal insider told the publication: ‘He has gone straight into the officer training in this year’s intake and is very keen and up for it.
‘It’s a dead cert he’ll get a lot further than Prince Edward ever did.’
Arthur, who studied geography at Edinburgh University, juggled his studies with working as a personal trainer at the ‘inclusive’ BoundFitness gym in the Scottish city.
The facility, which opened last year, is described online as focusing on the ‘mental health benefits of exercise’ and ‘making exercise inclusive’.

In a profile of the young royal shared on Instagram, Arthur wrote: ‘I’m a level 3 personal trainer, I specialise in strength and endurance training with a military focus.’
Last summer he took part in the epic 2,000-mile GB Row Challenge around the UK to raise funds for charity, completing it on August 16.
The team had originally intended to raise the funds for Just One Ocean but said the coronavirus pandemic had inspired them to help the British Red Cross as well.
Arthur was greeted at the finish at St Katherine Docks in London by his family and girlfriend Lizzie Friend.

While Arthur is still best known for his lineage as the grandson of the Queen’s late sister Princess Margaret, he gained a loyal online following thanks to his very cheeky Instagram snaps – though he has recently deleted his @artchatto page.
The account gave a rare glimpse into his everyday life and featured revealing photos, often showing his bare, toned torso.
After attending Westminster Cathedral Choir school, Arthur followed in the footsteps of William and Harry at £33,270-a-year Eton.
At Eton he was in its Combined Cadet Force, which teaches pupils various military skills.
It echoes the trajectory of Prince Harry, who also joined the CCF at Eton before enrolling in the Armed Forces. The Duke of Sussex was recently stripped of his honorary title as Captain General of the Royal Marines after quitting the Firm.
Arthur followed his older brother Sam to Edinburgh University.
Princess Margaret’s grandson is also a fan of outdoor sports including Arctic diving and mountain climbing.
