Princess Mary unveils Denmark’s Christmas stamp collection

With little over seven weeks to go until Christmas, the keen and well-prepared among us will be turning our attentions towards festive gifts, cards and decorations.

It seems Royalty are no different. Crown Princess Mary of Denmark unveiled this year’s Christmas stamp collection for the Christmas Seal in Copenhagen City Hall on Friday, the sales for which will go towards homes for children in need.

For the occasion, the stylish Princess opted for a stylish jewel-hued purple outfit.

Princess Mary completed her chic get-up with her much-loved Louboutin snakeskin heels – which retail for over AUD $1,000 a pop – simple silver jewellery and a pretty half-up-half-down hairdo.

The Christmas Seal is a specially-designed stamp launched each year and sold throughout Denmark in addition to Christmas stamps.

The Foundation for the Seal is one of more than 25 organisations that hard-working Mary, 45, is the patron of.

She has spent several years involved with their homes, which temporarily house children in need.

This isn’t the first time the 45-year-old Danish Royal has unveiled the Christmas stamp.

Indeed, Princess Mary has done so for the past few years.

Two years ago, she attended the event with her mother-in-law, Queen Margrethe, who designed the card that year and depicted doves delivering letters to children in the snow.
