Priyanka Chopra wows in purple knit and jeans for Esquire.. as star reveals she ‘wants the world’

She became a household name after landing the starring role as Alex Parrish in the hit ABC series Quantico.

And Priyanka Chopra sat down with Esquire.com to talk about playing the action role as well as where she sees herself in the future.

The stunning actress, 35, said: ‘I’m an actor and an artist, and I want to go where my work takes me. I don’t want to settle for one or two countries, I want the world.’

The star, who was born in Jamshedpur, India, noted: ‘I’m very clear about it. As long as people want to watch me, I want to entertain.’

Priyanka explained to Esquire: ‘To me, being an Indian actor, or an actor of South Asian descent, or a woman of color, or an immigrant–whichever title you like–being all of those people and being in America and getting the kind of welcome and love I’ve gotten withing the industry, it feels like a sense of acceptance.’

The star continued: ‘I hope with me getting that acceptance, it opens up the floodgates for more people who look like me.’ 

Priyanka moved to the US at the age of 13 for her studies; she moved back to India three years later to finish high school. 

Priyanka added: ‘I hope that sort of marks the conversation for actresses or people of color to get more opportunities because it’s the opportunities that lack.’

For the shoot, Priyanka donned a fuzzy lavender turtleneck, which she paired with light wash denim.

The dark-haired beauty rocked delicate silver rings with red polished nails, opting to pull her tresses back into a bun.

The Baywatch star, who painted her pout a matte pink hue, revealed that this season – season three- has a very different tone.

She added that this year ‘everything has changed.’

Priyanka said that for the show’s revamp, they changed from 22 episodes a season to just 13.

Adding that the show has ‘really gone global,’ explaining that ‘the show goes to about 64 countries around the globe.’

The beautiful actress says: ‘It’s great for us to be able to cater to all of that. We start off in Tuscany, we end in Dublin, and within this season, there are countries that liaise with America.’

Adding: ‘A lot of shows have shied away from storylines that hit a little close to home. It’s hard keeping up with the headlines.’
