A bizarre anti-same-sex marriage banner has seen draped over an overpass on a busy highway.
Motorists travelling to work on the M1 in Brisbane were greeted with crude drawings of male and female genitalia on Tuesday.
The banner, painted in red and black capital letters, links gay marriage supporters with a variety of conspiracy theories.

The banner read: ‘Only the Illuminati, Jewish media, sell-out government, and homosexuals want gay marriage. “WAKE UP SHEEPLE”. “Research the New World Order SHEEPLE. Baaahahaha.’
The words Illuminati and the New World Order refer to a conspiracy theory about a global secret society controlling the world.

‘Every time I tell someone that Logan ain’t as bad as they’ve been led to believe, one of my crazy neighbours goes and pulls a stunt like this,’ wrote one local.

‘Ashamed this is Brisbane,’ wrote another.
‘Poor tired souls struggling with their sexuality,’ wrote one man, ‘If only they’d let go and cease their self-deprecation.’
Other comments were more difficult to grasp. ‘In their defence, if I had a d*** I’d probably sword fight with it,’ someone said.

There has been a spate of offensive anti-gay marriage incidents in recent days.
A Melbourne mother-of-two received hate-mail saying ‘I hope your kids get AIDS and bashed’, after she hung rainbow bunting from her home.
In Sydney a couple who painted their letterbox rainbow had it vandalised and dog poo placed on their doorstep.

The incidents come after ‘yes’ supporters were accused of abusive and violent behaviour, including the headbutting of former prime minister Tony Abbott.
The anti-Semitic banner was removed within hours and the police said they had not started an investigation into it as they had not received a complaint.
Daily Mail Australia contacted Logan City Council for comment.
