Paris St Germain have added Wolves winger Pedro Neto to their list of summer targets.

The 22-year-old has only just returned to fitness after fracturing his kneecap last April and made his first start in 330 days earlier this month against Crystal Palace.

PSG’s interest is testament to the work Neto has put in to recover his old sharpness after such a serious injury. They were already well aware of his capabilities and are monitoring his progress for the rest of the season.

The Portugal international is on a list that includes Leeds United’s Raphinha and Ousmane Dembele, Barcelona’s France international flyer, who is out of contract in the summer.

Neto cost Wolves £16million in 2019 and they rewarded his hard work with a new two year contract extension only this month which ties him to the Molineux club until 2027.

PSG tried to sign Dembele in January on transfer deadline day with owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi keen to bring a France international into his glittering squad but they failed to strike a deal with Barcelona that could fit into FFP guidelines.

Barca are discussing the possibility of a contract extension for the 24-year-old after he returned to the fold under coach Xavi but the Spanish side have also discussed a move for Leeds’ Raphinha with his agent, and their scout, Deco should Dembele move on. A transfer for Raphinha though would depend on the price tag and Barcelona navigating their own Financial Fairplay restrictions.

Raphinha plus Neto have now subsequently been identified by PSG’s technical staff as two candidates to bolster their attack as they look to make significant changes to their squad this summer.

Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford remains another name on their wishlist but that is likely to be only if coach Mauricio Pochettino stays.

Despite going out of the Champions League, the Argentine coach is the subject of interest from Manchester United and Real Madrid.
