They claim the France international is more open than ever towards the idea of extending his stay in Paris, having finally found the role that he has been searching for in the PSG dressing room.

He has been one of the club’s best performers this season with 10 goals in 19 Ligue 1 games despite their failure to click as a unit, become a key leader and the difference maker in the squad as a result.

Zinedine Zidane’s potential arrival at the Parc des Princes next season could also influence Mbappe’s decision, with the latter keen to work with one of his footballing idols.

The former Real Madrid boss is reportedly in line to replace Mauricio Pochettino should the Argentine be named Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s permanent successor once the season has ended.

PSG are also said to be in talks with Mbappe’s France team-mate Paul Pogba and fellow midfielder Franck Kessie as they look to build a squad capable of challenging on all fronts, another move the club hope will help convince the 23-year-old/

However, Zidane’s former club remain confident they can bring him to Spain in the summer.

That optimism is being led by Madrid president Florentino Perez, who the report claims is convinced he can secure a deal for the striker on a free transfer.

Recent reports suggest Los Blancos are preparing a financial package worth £292million to secure the services of Mbappe and Borussia Dortmund counterpart Erling Haaland.

Mbappe however will come up against Madrid when his PSG side face them in the last 16 of the Champions League knockout stage next month.
