PSG ‘make contact with Cristiano Ronaldo’s entourage over a possible summer switch from Juventus with Max Allegri willing to let him leave Turin’ as French giants look for a replacement for Kylian Mbappe, who is edging closer to Real Madrid

  • Cristiano Ronaldo is believed to be open to leaving Juventus this summer
  • He scored 36 goals across all competitions in their disappointing season
  • Max Allegri replaced Andrea Pirlo, but AS claim Allegri is happy to let him leave
  • Kylian Mbappe has just a year left on his PSG deal and is yet to commit his future

Paris Saint-Germain have contacted Cristiano Ronaldo’s camp over a possible summer move away from Juventus, according to reports in Spain.

The 36-year-old is believed to be open to leaving the Serie A giants this season having received criticism from some quarters for their underwhelming campaign, which nevertheless saw them lift the Coppa Italia and Italian Super Cup.

The Portugal star scored 36 goals across all competitions but Juventus surrendered their nine-year stranglehold on the Scudetto to Inter Milan and required victory on the final day of the season to qualify for the Champions League.

A humiliating last-16 exit in Europe at the hands of Porto compounded their shortcomings this term, and saw Andrea Pirlo replaced by former boss Massimiliano Allegri following the end of the campaign.

And Spanish outlet AS claim that with the Italian ready to let Ronaldo depart the Allianz Stadium, PSG have made an initial move to try and sign the former Manchester United and Real Madrid star.

The report adds the Ligue 1 side are eyeing Ronaldo as a replacement for Kylian Mbappe, with the 22-year-old having just a year left on his deal at the Parc des Princes and struggling to agree a new deal in the French capital.

The same outlet therefore claims that the 2018 World Cup winner is closing in on a move to long-term admirers Real Madrid, with the departure of compatriot Zinedine Zidane not having any effect on their interest.

The report suggests PSG had also considered Lionel Messi, but reports in Spain claim the Argentine is on the verge of signing a fresh two-year deal at Barcelona.

However, Sportsmail understands that although the Catalan giants are in the process of putting together a new deal for the 33-year-old Argentine, there are no guarantees he will stay at the Nou Camp despite Sergio Aguero’s arrival on a free.

PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi however is said to be equally content with Ronaldo, believing he can team up with Neymar to help the club win the so-far elusive Champions League crown.

Brazil star Neymar confirmed last month he wanted to link-up with his Portuguese counterpart, telling GQ France: ‘I want to play with Cristiano Ronaldo.

‘I’ve already played with great players like Messi and [Kylian] Mbappe, but I haven’t played with Cristiano Ronaldo yet.’

Allegri meanwhile is believed to favour retaining the services of Paulo Dybala and Alvaro Morata in Turin, but Juventus will still demand a fee in between £21million and £26m for Ronaldo.

The Portuguese has scored 101 goals in 133 appearances for Juventus since joining them from Madrid back in 2018.
