- Real Madrid are interested in signing Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois
- However, Paris Saint-Germain have now entered the race to recruit the Belgian
- The player’s father reportedly met with PSG officials in London on Monday
- His agent, however, has refuted the claims he met with the Ligue 1 club
Paris Saint-Germain have ramped up their pursuit of Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, having met the player’s father for talks in London.
The Belgium international is a protracted target for Real Madrid and it now seems the two European superclubs are set to battle it out for the player’s signature this summer.
According to Belgian TV station RTBF, Courtois’ father, Thierry, had an informal chat with PSG’s representatives in the English capital on Monday.

But Courtois’ agent Christophe Henrotay quickly put paid to talk of such a meeting taking place.
‘I have never heard of that meeting,’ said Henrotay.
‘If any club is interested they know what they have to do – find a deal with Chelsea and then talk to me to check my client interest.
‘RTBF is a small TV channel in Belgium and sometimes they like a little thrill to keep them alive. But their information is not correct.’
Henrotay had been in China the last week, thrashing out a deal for another of his clients, fellow Belgian Yannick Carrasco, to move to Dalian Yifang in a £26million deal.

Courtois’ current deal at Stamford Bridge runs out next summer but talks of negotiating an extension appear to have hit the buffers.
He was expected to hold talks with the Blues during February amid the strong interest in him from Real Madrid, and now PSG, but no such discussions took place.
Chelsea are planning to pay him more than £200,000-a-week to stay at Stamford Bridge but if Antonio Conte’s side cannot renew Courtois’ deal, they run the risk of losing him this summer.
