A lifestyle psychologist has revealed what your fridge stacking style says about your personality, whether you have your dinners pre-planned each week or barely purchase anything from the supermarket that isn’t a sweet treat or frozen meal.
Martha Tsakalos teamed up with Westinghouse to create the Australian Fridge Stacking Personality guide, which includes four key styles called The Conscious + Committed, People-Pleaser, Socialite and Creative.
‘The way you stack your fridge says a lot about your personality and approach to food, cooking and life,’ Martha told FEMAIL.
‘For example, if your fridge is extremely organised and ordered with nothing out of place, you’re likely to be a type A. However, if you’re more of a creative or a foodie, there will be less organisation but a more diverse range of foods and flavours.’

THE CONSCIOUS + COMMITTED
Your fridge is always well-stocked and well-organised with a variety of different healthy foods.
You know exactly where to keep fruits and vegetables (possibly arranged by colour) and dairy for optimal freshness.
You’ll also find bottles of kombucha, plant-based milks, jars of sauerkraut and kimchi which are neatly stacked by expiry date.
You won’t find Tim Tams in your fridge but there might be a block of dark 70 per cent cocoa chocolate in the door. There’s also fresh pet food – no dried kibble for these family members.
‘Most of the time this person shops organic, and might store their fruit and vegetables in Westinghouse’s FreshSeal Crisper for optimal freshness,’ Martha said.
Exercise is a daily edition to this healthy eater’s life and they will tend to opt for superfood greens over a night out on the town with a kebab in hand.

THE PEOPLE-PLEASER
Your fridge is organised chaos, well-stocked and well-lived in.
On hand is a homemade lasagne, bags of salad, garlic bread and a ready-to-bake-pizza for easy mid-week meals.
You can whip up a cheese platter in seconds and there is a selection of store-bought dips to serve with chips and drinks in case of last-minute entertaining.
Your freezer is also stocked with ice cream, frozen wontons, party pies, frozen pizza, chicken nuggets and oven chips – you’re always ready to host a get together be it footy finals or romcom reruns.
Keeping healthy foods at eye level will help you reach for a fulfilling snack instead of empty calories.
With a Westinghouse fridge you can keep some of your favourite snacks hidden in the FamilySafe lockable compartment, which is far away from wandering hands.

THE SOCIALITE
You don’t spend much time or energy on your fridge, it’s empty and unloved.
Convenience foods such as BBQ chicken, instant rice and microwave-steam packet vegetables or frozen meals are staples.
You have a beer or two on hand, as well as a bottle of champagne, white or rose wine that you’re chilling to take to a friend’s house.
There’s also milk chocolate, coffee shots and energy drinks for a pick-me-up – and there could even be a face mask or beauty treatment chilling as well.
‘There is less structure to your grocery shopping so opt for ready mix veggies to limit your food waste,’ Martha said.
‘The Socialite and the People Pleaser would most likely fall behind in the healthy category, although, it really is all about balance and moderation,’ Dietitian Dr Joanna McMillan said.
The socialite enjoys having plenty of alcoholic drinks on hand, frozen meals and eggs for a morning cook up

THE CREATIVE
You have a well-stocked, well-lived-in, generally healthy, balanced fridge – which can be a bit cluttered at times.
You’re creative in the kitchen and cook from scratch. Your fridge is full of flavoursome and unique condiments such as truffle cheese, olive tapenade, capers, homemade chutneys, dill pickles and cultured butter.
You also have game meats, spatchcock, gourmet butcher cuts of meats.
You have loads of fresh herbs micro-veggies and edible flowers. As well as tonic water for G&Ts and champagne (not sparkling) for entertaining.
‘I would say the Conscious and Committed and the Creative are the two healthier personalities, but that could be purely down to the organised chaos and variety that they tend to have in their fridge,’ Dr McMillan said.
‘These personalities tend to take full advantage of their fridge and the different compartments and features that it offers.
‘For instance, they know to keep their fruit in their crisper, their cheese wrapped up in baking paper to keep it from sweating and their herbs wrapped in damp kitchen paper and then in a sealed bag to prolong their shelf life.’
