Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell had plenty of praise for quarterback Jared Goff after leading the team to their first playoff win in 32 years on Sunday.

After securing the 24-23 win over Goff’s former team, the Los Angeles Rams, Campbell took a jab at their foes for trading Goff in 2021.

‘I’ll just say it like this, you’re good enough for f***ing Detroit Jared Goff,’ Campbell said before tossing a game ball to his quarter back.

The locker room erupted in cheers and applause for their facilitator, who then rallied them to ‘bring it in’.

‘Hey, I love and appreciate you guys more than you know, I promise you that,’ Goff addressed his team. ‘I love you guys so f***ing much.’

‘This is just the beginning boys,’ he continued.

‘We got three more of these f***ers. Next week at home, at our place, against whoever the f*** wants to come in here. Let’s go.’

As he has been all season, Goff was efficient during Sunday’s monumental win, completing 22 of 27 passes for 277 yards and a touchdown.

Goff’s 81.5 per cent completion for 2,575 yards so far this season was influential towards their 11-5 finish for the top of the NFC North.

In 2016, Goff was selected first overall by the Rams, where his four-year tenure included a Super Bowl appearance in 2018.

In 2020, the Rams moved on from Goff and packaged him with draft picks to swap for Matthew Stafford.

Aside from Goff, Campbell also gave a game ball to general manager Brad Holmes, who helped piece the team together, as he addressed the locker room postgame.

‘How electric was it out there?’ Campbell said.

‘I’m telling you what, it doesn’t get any better. It’s everything you dreamed of and than more.’

The Lions have secured homefield advantage and will host the winner of the game between the Philadelphia Eagles and Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Ford Field next Sunday.
