A Queensland man has had surgery after would-be intruders left a crack in a 23-year-old man’s skull ‘about the size of a 10 cent piece’.
Men arrived at Jabin Giblett’s family home in Marsden about 1.30am on the weekend, and attempted to break in, 7 News reported.
Mr Giblett had poked his head over the fence to see what all of the commotion was about when a large rock was thrown at his head, leaving him with horrific injuries.
‘He has a crack in his skull about the size of a 10 cent piece… he had to have plates and screws [put in],’ His cousin’s wife, Tammy Begg-Smith, told 7 News.

The man was rushed to the Princess Alexandra Hospital, where he spent the night in hospital.
His cousin, Tyrone Begg-Smith, told 7 News the men, believed to be intoxicated at the time, were simply out looking for a fight.
‘They just wanted to fight – once we spotted them, they were going out and yelling heaps… they just wanted a fight,’ he said.
The men also threw rocks at the roof of the family home, where children had been sleeping inside.
Mr Giblett could be out of hospital as soon as tomorrow, 9 News reported, but his assailant is yet to be found.
