Queen and Prince Harry attend Lady Gabriella Windsor’s wedding

Newly-married Thomas Kingston poses with his bride Lady Gabriella Windsor as they leave St George’s Chapel today

The Queen, Prince Philip, the Duke of Sussex, Princess Anne and the Middletons led the guests today as royal bride Lady Gabriella Windsor married Thomas Kingston in the biggest society wedding of the year so far.

Prince Harry was at St George’s Chapel in the grounds of Windsor Castle just 12 days after the birth of Archie, his first son with wife Meghan – and on the eve of their first wedding anniversary. The 34-year-old royal arrived with Peep Show actress Sophie Winkleman, who is married to Lady Gabriella’s brother Lord Frederick.

Harry was accompanied by his uncle and aunt, the Earl of Wessex and the Princess Royal, who was joined by her second husband Vice Admiral Timothy Laurence for the wedding of Lady Gabriella, the daughter of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, to financier Mr Kingston.

The Queen was joined by Prince Philip as the Duke of Edinburgh made a rare public appearance two years after his retirement. Other royals at the chapel today included Sarah, Duchess of York with her ex-husband Prince Andrew and their daughter Princess Beatrice with her boyfriend Edoardo Marpelli Mozzi.

Philip appeared in good spirits and joked with the Dean of Windsor, the Right Reverend David Conner, who was waiting to greet the monarch. The Queen wore a pink A-line coat, and a lilac and pink silk dress by Stewart Parvin, with a matching hat by Rachel Trevor-Morgan.

Foreign royalty included King Constantine II of Greece and his wife Queen Anne-Marie who arrived in a car.

Pippa Middleton, a long-time friend of Mr Kingston, and her husband James Matthews smiled as they arrived, along with her parents Carole and Michael Middleton. Pippa’s brother James Middleton was also there, joined by his French girlfriend Alizee Thevenet.

Lady Gabriella and her Mr Kingston kissed on the steps of St George’s following the ceremony. The newlywed couple were all smiles as they left, closely followed by the bridal party and members of their immediate family.

Posing for photos on the steps of the chapel, the couple lovingly gazed at each other before getting into a claret-coloured vintage wedding car. Lady Gabriella was helped into it by the bridal party due to her long train and veil.

Buckingham Palace later released details about the wedding service, with the hymns sung by the congregation including Tell Out My Soul, Be Thou My Vision and Love Divine, All Loves Excelling.

The readings were taken from Ecclesiastes III, Philippians IV, a passage from Shakespeare’s Love’s Labour’s Lost, and O Tell Me The Truth About Love, by WH Auden.

They were read by Joanna Conolly, Emma Murray, Ms Winkleman and Sarah St George. The bride and groom chose Paul Thomas to design the flower arrangements for the service.

Flowers in the chapel included coral sunset peonies, coral and white roses, white hydrangea, white delphiniums, apricot stocks and seasonal flowers, as well as the creamy ivory ‘Ella’ rose, by David Austin, named for the bride.

The cherry and apple blossom trees and shrubs which stood outside St George’s were from Hillier Nurseries.

The wedding reception was held at Frogmore House, where Meghan and Harry staged their wedding dinner, and the bride and groom cut a cake made by Fiona Cairns, who also made the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s cake.

The three-tiered confection was made with three recipes including fruit cake, Victoria sponge and lemon Limoncello sponge.

It featured pale blush icing, and the leaf border surrounding the base was inspired by fabric within Frogmore House. The decoration included seasonal sugar flowers and shades of the lacework on the bride’s wedding dress.

Guests at the reception were served smoked Scottish salmon and asparagus risotto and canapes, plus Caragh Chocolates from the Isle of Sark, where the couple were engaged. Flowers at the reception were by John Plested.

Earlier, when the groom Mr Kingston was seen walking to St George’s Chapel accompanied by his best man, he was applauded by a small group of residents who live within the castle grounds.

He was closely followed by mother of the bride Princess Michael of Kent, wearing a lilac dress and embroidered overcoat, who was joined by Lady Gabriella’s brother Lord Frederick Windsor.

Lady Gabriella arrived soon after, wearing a lace gown by Italian designer Luisa Beccaria. Arriving at the chapel in a claret coloured vintage car, she was accompanied by her father.

The beaming bride had her long veil arranged by the designer on the steps of the chapel. The bridal party – of six bridesmaids and three pageboys – entered the 15th-century chapel moments before.

Lady Gabriella wore a Russian Fringe-style tiara also worn by her grandmother, Princess Marina, Duchess of Kent, and her mother, Princess Michael of Kent, for their wedding days.

Lady Gabriella’s hair was styled in elegant curls, with a long veil designed in a similar fashion to the dress.

Embroidered with flowers and embellishments, layers of blush-coloured tulle and organdie created the body of the wedding gown under the lace, fanning out for a long train.

Known as Ella, the bride had a creamy ivory Ella rose in her bouquet alongside myrtle, a tradition in many royal bridal flower arrangements. The bridesmaids and pageboys wore outfits by the same designer.

Isabella and Maud Windsor – Lady Gabriella’s nieces – and the other bridesmaids wore cream dresses with blush underlays and sashes, with flower rings in their hair in a similar style to the bouquet.

Maud, the eldest daughter of Lord Frederick Windsor and Sophie Winkleman, was part of the bridal party at Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s wedding in October. Pageboys wore cream shirts and knickerbockers.

Guests were ferried in vintage buses close to the chapel and then walked down the hill to take their seats for the ceremony in the 15th-century venue from noon.

Julian Fellowes, who is well known as creator of TV period drama Downton Abbey, was also among the first to arrive as he walked alongside two female guests.

The society event was a parade of hats, dresses and men in morning suits as everyone waited for the ceremony in the chapel to begin. Lady Gabriella is the Queen’s first cousin once removed, and the 52nd in line to the throne.

It was the third royal wedding at St George’s Chapel in less than a year after the star-studded nuptials of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex last May and Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank in October.

Buckingham Palace had said the monarch would be joined by members of the royal family but they were not revealed in advance.

Not a ‘working royal’, she is also board director for the Playing for Change Foundation, a non-profit organisation aiming to improve education through music.

Prior to her current relationship, Lady Gabriella dated journalist Aatish Taseer, who wrote a tell-all Vanity Fair article earlier this year which claimed they swam naked in the Buckingham Palace pool.

She had been dating Mr Kingston for a number of years when he proposed while they were on the island of Sark last summer.

Her groom Mr Kingston, 40, is a director of Devonport Capital, which specialises in providing finance for companies in ‘frontier economies’.

The Bristol University graduate worked in Baghdad, Iraq, according to the Telegraph, working to procure the release of hostages after joining the Diplomatic Missions Unit of the Foreign Office.

His financial career credentials include roles at Voltan Capital Management and IDC Securities.

Mr Kingston is a close friend of Pippa Middleton – the Duchess of Cambridge’s sister – with the pair seen out and about together on numerous occasions.

He attended her wedding to James Matthews in May 2017, accompanied by Lady Gabriella.

Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi arrive at the wedding of Lady Garbriella Windsor and Thomas Kingston at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle

Princess Beatrice wore a £370 high street dress as she made her first royal appearance with her boyfriend Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi at the wedding of Lady Gabriella Windsor and Thomas Kingston this morning.

Beatrice, 30, and father-of-one Edoardo, 34, kept their romance out of the spotlight when they started dating last year but have been seen more often of late.

Beatrice wore a white fascinator with a high street dress from Self-Portrait worth £370 as she stepped out with Edoardo in his morning suit at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle.

They were joined by Beatrice’s mother Sarah Ferguson, her father Prince Andrew and her sister Princess Eugenie who was married to Jack Brooksbank at the same venue last year.

Edoardo – who is known as Edo – is the stepson of Christopher Shale a friend of David Cameron, who died at Glastonbury music festival in 2011.

The couple went public when they attended the annual gala for the Berggruen Prize for Philosophy and Culture in New York in December last year.

It’s thought the two were friends for years before their friendship evolved into a romance.

Edoardo founded a real estate firm in 2007, and serves as its CEO to this day. The company specializes in finding and developing homes for wealthy clients.

Beatrice, who lives in New York and works full time as a consultant that introduces start-ups to potential financial backers, was spotted with her boyfriend several times in Manhattan throughout the Spring.

The official appearance at the royal wedding confirms suspicions that the relationship has become more serious.

Beatrice is among a number of royal family members lead by the Queen at Lady Gabriella’s wedding in St George’s Chapel.

Lady Gabriella’s tiara shimmers beneath her veil as she arrives at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle

Lady Gabriella Windsor wore a Russian Fringe-style diamond tiara worn by her grandmother and mother on their wedding days as she married Thomas Kingston.

The stunning gems of the tiara shimmered beneath Lady Gabriella’s long white veil as she beamed on arrival at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle.

It was worn by her grandmother, Princess Marina, Duchess of Kent, and her mother, Princess Michael of Kent, on their wedding days in 1934 and 1978 respectively.

The timeless crown glimmered on Princess Marina at her wedding to Prince George at Westminster Abbey and for Princess Michael at her wedding to Prince Michael in Vienna, Austria.

Lady Gabriella’s tiara was accompanied by a lace gown by Italian designer Luisa Beccaria, who designed the six-metre long veil which flowed over the band.

Her blonde hair was styled in elegant curls and her gown was embroidered with flowers and embellishments – layers of blush-coloured tulle and organdie created the body of the wedding gown under the lace, fanning out for a long train.

Known as Ella, the bride had a creamy ivory Ella rose in her bouquet alongside myrtle, a tradition in many royal bridal flower arrangements.

She entered the chapel at Windsor Castle to marry financier Thomas Kingston after stepping from a claret-coloured vintage car, accompanied by her father, Prince Michael of Kent.

Isabella and Maud Windsor – Lady Gabriella’s nieces – and the other bridesmaids wore cream dresses with blush underlays and sashes, with flower rings in their hair in a similar style to the bouquet.

Prince Harry attends royal wedding in Windsor without Meghan 12 days after the birth of baby Archie and on the eve of their first wedding anniversary

Prince Harry made a surprise appearance at the royal wedding today ahead of his own wedding anniversary tomorrow.

Harry, 34, beamed as he arrived at the wedding of Lady Gabriella Windsor and Thomas Kingston at St George’s Chapel in Windsor.

He appeared to have left new mother Meghan Markle, 37, at home with their 12 day old son Archie.

It’s likely to be a sentimental event for Prince Harry, who wed Meghan at St George’s Chapel in Windsor last year.

The pair appeared to share a joke as they walked into the church, and were seen chuckling together.

Prince Harry has made several public appearances since his son Archie was born 12 days ago.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have had a busy first year of marriage, embarking on a major overseas tour, moving house and welcoming their first child.

Meghan threw herself into royal life and was at work with Harry just days after their wedding last May as they joined the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall at a garden party celebrating the prince’s charity work.

It was a year of firsts for newbie royal Meghan, and the party marked the newlyweds’ first official engagement as a married couple.

The duchess undertook her first joint engagement with the Queen on a day trip to Cheshire, and body language experts said the pair got on famously.

In July, Harry and Meghan headed to Dublin – their first official overseas trip as a married couple – and visited Croke Park stadium, the scene of the Bloody Sunday atrocity committed by British troops against civilians in 1920.

Personal celebrations included Meghan’s 37th birthday in August which was spent at the wedding of Harry’s society friends Charlie van Straubenzee and Daisy Jenks, Harry’s 34th birthday in September, and a holiday with George and Amal Clooney in Italy.

In the autumn, Meghan brought her mother Doria Ragland to the launch of the Grenfell community cookbook she championed – and helped prepare lunch for the guests at the Hubb Community Kitchen in London.

Ms Ragland’s last memorable appearance was on the steps of St George’s Chapel following the royal wedding in May, watching her daughter begin her new life as a member of the monarchy.

Meghan was the driving force behind the book, suggesting the idea to a group of women who came together to cook at a Muslim cultural centre in North Kensington in the aftermath of the Grenfell tragedy.

Ms Ragland introduced herself to guests as ‘Meg’s mom’ when she arrived at the marquee with the duke and duchess, and said she was ‘head over heels’ with pride.

The Sussexes were back in St George’s Chapel in October where they were guests at Princess Eugenie’s wedding.

It’s likely to be a sentimental day for Prince Harry, who will celebrate his own wedding anniversary to wife Meghan Markle tomorrow

It was on this day they shared the news with their family that they were expecting a baby.

The pregnancy was announced publicly just three days later when Harry and Meghan were starting their official tour to Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Tonga.

A delighted Harry called the baby ‘our little bump’ and Meghan repeatedly cradled her stomach as the pair continued with their marathon 16-day trip, which featured more than 70 engagements.

Highlights included a trip to Bondi beach in Sydney, the 2018 Invictus Games, and a Maori welcome in Rotorua, New Zealand.

Back in the UK, the duchess joined the royals for the first time at the Cenotaph on Remembrance Sunday, which this year fell on the centenary of Armistice Day.

And the family came together again for Charles’ 70th birthday for official photographs, and then a party hosted by the Queen.

The Royal Variety Performance is a staple of the royal calendar and Meghan had her first introduction to the annual event, joining Harry in meeting Take That at the charity show.

As it emerged that the couple had chosen Frogmore Cottage on the Windsor Estate as the home where they will raise their family, rumours abounded as to the reason for their move away from Kensington Palace, amid speculation over Meghan and Kate’s relationship.

There were also reports of tension between William and Harry, with Harry reportedly accusing his older brother of trying to wreck his relationship with Meghan when he initially voiced concerns.

But the two couples appeared the best of friends when they led the royal family to church on Christmas Day at Sandringham.

Meghan and Kate were all smiles as they walked side by side, just as they had done the previous Christmas with Harry and William, past hundreds of royal fans.

In February, Meghan enjoyed a baby shower get together with friends in New York.

Amal Clooney and Jessica Mulroney were among the guests who made an appearance at the lavish five-star Mark Hotel.

In March it was announced that Harry and Meghan were to have their own household based at Buckingham Palace, separate to William and Kate, to take forward their growing roles as senior members of the royal family.

Harry and Meghan then moved out of Kensington Palace and into Frogmore Cottage, having carried out extensive renovations to the house at an estimated cost to the taxpayer of £3 million.

Work on the listed property in Berkshire – including changing it from staff apartments into one mansion – overran and it was reported that the Sussexes made constant design changes, meaning the builders fell behind schedule.

The duke and duchess, who were footing the bill for furnishings, are said to have hired former Soho House interior designer Vicky Charles to transform their new pad.

They had lived at Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace since their engagement.

With a new home, all that was left was for Meghan to give birth to the couple’s first child.

Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor was born on Monday May 6 at the private Portland Hospital in London.

He was born in a maternity unit renowned for its quality of service, akin to a five-star hotel where parents can spend tens of thousands to ensure a safe and happy arrival for their baby.

Archie, who is the seventh in line to the throne and an eighth great-grandchild for the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh, is believed to be the first mixed-race child born to a senior member of the royal family in centuries, and is a reflection of modern Britain with its culturally diverse population.

When Harry announced to the world his wife had given birth to a boy he could not hide his happiness at becoming a father for the first time, to a baby he said was ‘absolutely to-die-for’.

Prince Philip has made a rare public appearance at the wedding of royal bride Lady Gabriella Windsor and groom Thomas Kingston in Windsor today.

The Duke of Edinburgh, 97, who retired from royal duties in May, 2017, arrived alongside the Queen at St George’s Chapel this morning.

Both were driven to the chapel by car, with the Queen exiting the vehicle ahead of Philip. They greeted the clergy, before entering the venue together.

The Prince, who was today seen wearing a hearing aid, was last photographed at the public reveal of Harry and Meghan’s first child Archie last week.

In that, he can be seen beaming at the youngster alongside the Queen and Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were also pictured.

Harry himself is at the wedding today, attending just 12 days after the birth of Archie, his first son with wife Meghan – and on the eve of their first wedding anniversary.

Lady Gabriella, the daughter of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, is due to marry Thomas Kingston at noon.

It is the third royal wedding in the 15th-century venue in less than a year following the star-studded nuptials of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex last May and Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank in October.

Lady Gabriella, 38, who is known as Ella, had been dating Mr Kingston for a number of years when he proposed last summer. Her father, Prince Michael, is the Queen’s cousin.

The Duke of York arrived by car to the wedding with his ex-wife Sarah, the Duchess of York, and their daughter Princess Beatrice and her boyfriend Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.

Pippa Middleton and husband James Matthews were also among those arriving and another famous face was Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes.

The society event was a parade of hats, dresses and men in morning suits as everyone waited for the ceremony to begin at noon, conducted by Dean of Windsor the Right Rev David Conner.

The bride, daughter of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, wore a lace gown by Italian designer Luisa Beccaria as she arrived at the chapel.

The bridal party – of six bridesmaids and three pageboys – entered the 15th-century chapel moments before.

Lady Gabriella, who is known as Ella, studied at both Brown University in the US and the University of Oxford, with degrees in Comparative Literature and Social Anthropology.

The 38-year-old works as an arts and travel director for brand company Branding Latin America, based in Knightsbridge, London.

Not a ‘working royal’, she is also board director for the Playing for Change Foundation, a non-profit organisation aiming to improve education through music.

James Middleton and his girlfriend Alizee Thevenet are among the guests at the royal wedding of Lady Gabriella and Thomas Kingston in Windsor today.

It is among one of the first occasions we have seen the 32-year-old brother of Pippa Middleton in public with French financial expert Ms Thevenet, 30.

She has been dating Mr Middleton for around ten months now, and the pair were first spotted together at a Middleton family holiday in St. Bart’s over Christmas.

But who exactly is she? Alizee, who met James in a bar, speaks three languages and has been living and working in London for around six years.

According to her father, Jean-Gabriel Thevenet, she was won over by James’ British charm and is ‘deliriously happy’ with the businessman.

He also revealed that her unusual name takes after a tropical wind known in French as the Alize, saying: ‘My daughter is named after my first love which is wind-surfing and the Alize wind that fills the sails.’

She holds a masters degree in investment and finance from Queen Mary, University of London, and did her undergraduate degree in accounting and finance in Brussels.

In January, James made his Instagram account public, but usually shares pictures of his nature walk and beloved dogs. But his latest post shows him cosied up to his girlfriend.

The smiling couple, who started dating last year, looked besotted in matching red jumpers out at sea. ‘Sail away with me,’ writes entrepreneur James.

From a St George’s Chapel ceremony to a glittering guest list including a Peep Show star and the groom’s pal Pippa, Lady Gabriella Windsor’s big day is set to rival any royal wedding (but the Cambridges and Sussexes WON’T be there)

By STEPHANIE LINNING FOR MAILONLINE

Today all eyes will once again be on Windsor as the city plays host to yet another royal wedding.

Lady Gabriella Windsor, 38, the daughter of the Queen’s cousin, Prince Michael of Kent, will marry fiancier Thomas Kingston at St George’s Chapel, almost a year to the day from when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex tied the knot at the venue.

The couple, who announced their engagement in September last year, will be joined by a congregation including the Queen and mother-of-the bride Princess Michael of Kent – sometimes dubbed ‘Princess Pushy’ for her imperious ways.

The bride’s actress sister-in-law Sophie Winkleman, who appeared on Peep Show, will also attend.

Pippa Middleton, 35, a long-time friend of the groom, and Princess Eugenie, 29, who wed Jack Brooksbank at the chapel in October, are also among the rumoured guests.

So to ensure you’re prepared for the big day, read on for our comprehensive guide covering everything from potential dress designers to a who’s who of the bride’s royal relatives…

Lady Gabriella Windsor – full name Lady Gabriella Marina Alexandra Ophelia Windsor – is the only daughter and youngest child of the Queen’s first cousin, Prince Michael of Kent, and his wife, Princess Michael of Kent. She is 52nd in line to the throne.

Lady Gabriella, 38, known simply as ‘Ella’ to friends, is a member of the royal family but not a working royal, meaning she has always had forge a career independently of the monarchy.

However she has been seen at large royal events like Trooping the Colour.

Born on 23 April – St George’s Day and the same day as her distant cousin, Prince Louis of Cambridge – Lady Gabriella was educated at Queen’s Gate School in London and Downe House School in Cold Ash, Berkshire, where the Duchess of Cambridge also briefly attended.

Other former pupils of the independent girls’ school include model Sophie Dahl, BBC presenter Clare Balding and former Made In Chelsea star Rosie Fortescue.

Lady Gabriella was accepted at the prestigious Brown University, Rhode Island, where she graduated with a BA in Comparative Literature. The royal later obtained a MPhil in Social Anthropology from Linacre College, Oxford.

Lady Gabriella now works as a Senior Director at Knightsbrige-based firm Branding Latin America, a brand-positioning platform that specialises in the region, as well as a writer, contributing to The London Magazine, among other publications.

It is thought Lady Gabriella and Thomas met in 2015 and became engaged in August last year and the news was announced the following month.

Before her relationship with Thomas Lady Gabriella dated journalist Aatish Taseer who were often seen at society’s biggest parties. The pair parted ways in 2006 after three years.

In April last year Taseer penned a scandalous article offering an insight into his relationship with the royal.

In the piece for Vanity Fair, Taseer described how they ‘hung about’ Kensington Palace, where Lady Gabriella’s parents, Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, live in a five-bedroom apartment, even claiming that they went skinny-dipping in Her Majesty’s swimming pool.

Lady Gabriella now keeps a low profile and according to friends is ‘happiest in the British Library.’

THE GROOM

For someone marrying into the British royal family, Thomas Kingston has kept a relatively low profile.

Mr Kingston is understood to have graduated with a degree in economic history from Bristol University before starting his career at the Diplomatic Missions Unit of Foreign Office.

In 2003 he moved to Baghdad, where he spent three years working as a project officer to help mediate conflicts. It is thought he also helped negotiate the release of hostages as part of his role.

Following his stint in the Middle East, Mr Kingston moved into finance, working as an analyst for asset management firm Schroders.

Rubbing shoulders with society beauties

Thomas Kingston is thought to have once dated Natalie Hicks-Loebbecke, who is a rumoured ex-girlfriend of the Duke of Cambridge.

Mr Kingston was also rumoured to be romantically linked to Pippa Middleton after the pair met in 2011, although a relationship was never confirmed.

Regardless the pair have remained close friends and have been seen on several outings together.

A friend of Pippa’s previously told Daily Mail’s Richard Kay, ‘Tom is utterly charming, polite and very popular with the ladies. In fact, he is just the kind of guy you would want to introduce to your mother.’

He later landed a role as managing director of Voltan Capital Management.

Mr Kingston is now a director of Devonport Capital, which specialises in providing finance for companies in so-called ‘frontier’ economies.

It is not known how exactly Mr Kingston and Lady Gabriella met but he has been moving in royal social circles for several years.

Indeed he was once rumoured to be romantically linked to Pippa Middleton, 35, after the pair met in 2011 following the end of her relationship with cricketer Alex Loudon.

A relationship has never been confirmed but the pair remained friends and have previously been spotted hitting the town and attending Cheltenham races together.

It is thought Pippa and her financier husband James Matthews will be among the guests.

Mr Kingston proposed to Lady Gabriella in August 2018 on the Isle of Sark.

THE PROUD PARENTS

While Lady Gabriella Windsor might not be a household name, members of her immediate family certainly are.

Father of the bride Prince Michael of Kent, 76, is the paternal cousin of the Queen.

His father, Prince George, Duke of Kent, was the younger brother of King Edward VIII and the Queen’s father, King George VI.

Prince George, Duke of Kent died in 1942 aged 39 when the RAF aircraft he was travelling in crashed in Scotland. Prince Michael was just seven weeks old at the time.

At just five years old Prince Michael served as page boy at the wedding of the then Princess Elizabeth and Philip Mountbatten.

After graduating from Sandhurst, Prince Michael embarked on a 20-year military career that saw him serve in Germany, Hong Kong and Cyprus, and included a number of appointments on the Defence Intelligence Staff.

In 1978 Prince Michael married divorcee Baroness Marie Christine von Reibnitz in Vienna. She was given the title Princess Michael of Kent but is sometimes dubbed ‘Princess Pushy’ for her imperious ways.

She has also been involved in a number of embarrassing public missteps. In 2017 Princess Michael arrived at the Queen’s Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace, where the guests included Harry’s new fiancee Meghan Markle, displaying a Blackamoor brooch.

She was seen wearing the distinctive and controversial piece of jewellery — which depicts the head of a black man — on her coat as she drove into the Palace, where she was to be introduced to Meghan, whose mother is black, for the first time.

Prince and Princess Michael, who do not receive any official funding, raised their children in an apartment at Kensington Palace.

Lady Gabriella Windsor also has a brother, financial analyst Lord Frederick Windsor, 40, who is married to Peep Show actress Sophie Winkleman. The couple have two daughters, Maud, five, and Isabella, three.

WELL-HEELED GUESTS

Details of the guest list remain under wraps, but it has been confirmed that the Queen will be among the congregation when Lady Gabriella and Mr Kingston exchange vows at St George’s Chapel this Saturday.

Buckingham Palace announced the monarch, 93, will attend the nuptials in a statement released earlier this month.

The statement also revealed the Queen would be joined by ‘other members of the royal family’ although further names were not released.

The bride’s uncle the Duke of Kent, his wife the Duchess of Kent, and their three children – Lady Helen Taylor, George Windsor and Lord Nicholas Windsor – are among the most likely. Lady Gabriella served as bridesmaid to Lady Helen in 1992.

Starry sister-in-law: Lord Frederick's wife Sophie Winkleman, pictured in 2018, will be there. The actress, who married into the Windsor family in 2009, appeared on Peep Show

Starry sister-in-law: Lord Frederick’s wife Sophie Winkleman, pictured in 2018, will be there. The actress, who married into the Windsor family in 2009, appeared on Peep Show

Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank are also among the likely attendees.

Eugenie attended the wedding of the bride’s brother Lord Frederick, and Lady Gabriella and Mr Kingston attended Eugenie and Jack’s wedding in October last year.

European royalty could very well be represented. Princess Marie-Chantal of Greece was among those invited to Lord Frederick’s 2009 wedding and it could be that his sister has returned the favour.

Even if royals are in short supply, there will be plenty of glamour in the congregation with society beauties, actresses and musicians all among possible invitees.

Leading the way is likely to be Pippa Middleton, a long-time friend of the groom, who is expected to attend with her husband James Matthews, 43.

Lady Annabel Goldsmith is also among rumoured attendees. The socialite, 84, is a friend of the family and godmother to Lord Frederick.

… AND LIKELY ABSENTEES

Royal watchers hoping for a large turnout of senior royals might be left disappointed on Saturday, although again nothing has been confirmed.

The Duke of Cambridge, 36, is likely to miss the event as he will be attending the FA Cup final at Wembley.

As president of the FA, Prince William will be on hand to watch the match between Manchester City and Watford and will present the trophy to the winner.

He had to miss last year’s final as it fell on the same day as the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Conflicting engagements: The Duke of Cambridge, pictured with his family and Prince Louis' Christening last July, will be attending the FA Cup final in Wembley on the same day

While it is possible his wife the Duchess of Cambridge, 37, will attend alone, this is thought the be unlikely.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are similarly expected to be absent from proceedings. The couple welcomed son Archie together last Monday, making it unlikely Meghan, 37, will make a public appearance.

Meanwhile Prince Harry, 34, has honoured royal commitments in the days since his son’s birth, meaning he might want to take the opportunity to spend time at home with his wife and child.

Lady Gabriella and Mr Kingston were also not present for the royal wedding in May last year.

THE VENUE

ORDER OF THE DAY

Before 12pm

Guests will arrive at St George’s Chapel ahead of the service. The Queen will be the last member of the congregation to be seated.

12pm

The service will start at 12pm and will be conducted  by the Dean of Windsor, The Right Revd David Conner.

Afternoon

There will be a reception held at Frogmore House following the service.

There will be no drinks reception inside Windsor Castle like those hosted by the Queen for her grandchildren Prince Harry and Princess Eugenie.

It is understood that St George’s Chapel was chosen by the couple as Gabriella, 37, has a particular affiliation with the royal residence.

Friends say she has fond memories of childhood Christmases at Windsor, before the Queen moved her festivities to Sandringham, and she was also a bridesmaid for her first cousin, Lady Helen Taylor, there.

Like Harry and Meghan, Lady Gabriella will hold her reception at Frogmore House (although there will be no pre-drinks at the castle).

THE DRESS

In keeping with custom, details of the wedding dress will not be released until the day itself.

However it is thought Lady Gabriella will follow the Duchess of Sussex and Princess Eugenie by plumping for a British designer.

As Hello! noted, one favourite is Giles Deacon, who Lady Gabriella has chosen to wear on several high profile occasions, including the British Fashion Awards in 2006.

The following year the royal turned out for an event launching his collaboration with Mulberry.

Deacon, 50, who is married to Game of Thrones star Gwendoline Christie, has plenty of experience designing wedding dresses for well-to-do clients.

Indeed he was behind the stunning lace gown rumoured guest Pippa Middleton wore in 2017.

Another on the list is Beulah London, a brand popular with royals including the Duchess of Cambridge, who looked stunning in a dress from the label this year.

Once again Lady Gabriella has been seen in their creations on several occasions and has publicly shown her support by attending a store opening.

Handily, Beulah offers a bespoke bridal service… which might just prove the perfect choice for a woman who knows what she wants.
