The awards recognise social initiatives chosen by the bank’s employees in Spain, which will receive more than 40,000 euros (£34,300) each in funding.

Letizia struck the perfect balance between elegance and business chic in the floaty midi dress, which features a striking green and white scarf print.

Letting the dress speak for itself, she streamlined her look by picking discreet accessories.

Keeping things simple, she picked a black clutch bag, which matched her black stiletto heels for the occasion.

Her jewellery was minimal, with her favourite ring on her ring index finger, and a favourite pair of hoop earrings.

Her dark tresses were styled perfectly in a glossy blow-dry, which a few locks tucked behind her ears.

She sported her signature smokey eye, with a dash of bronzer bringing intensity to her hazelnut gaze and sculpted eyebrow.

The royal was invited to preside over the closing ceremony, which will see the bank support local social initiative.

The programme, which is in its 11th year, has funded 82 NGOs in Spain, and helped more than 45,000 people since its creation, donating 3million euros in total (£2,5 million).

Each year, a panel of experts selected 30 projects out of the submissions, and Santander employees voted for their favourites.

The projects are split in five categories: international cooperation, disability, health, social exclusion and pre-school education..
