Queen Letizia of Spain greets Israeli President in Madrid

Queen Letizia of Spain looked breathtaking in a black gown as she joined her husband to host the President and First Lady of Israel at a state banquet tonight.

The 45-year-old royal showed off her toned figure in the stunning frock, which featured blue embroidered floral detailing at the bottom.

Letizia and her husband King Felipe organised the event in honour of Isreali President Reuven Rivlin and his wife Nechama, who are on a three-day state visit.

Mrs Rivlin looked elegant in a black dress with three-quarter length sleeves while King Felipe and President Rivlin both looked dapper in white tie.

The group looked in good spirits as they posed for photos ahead of the banquet at the Royal Palace.

However it was Letizia who stole the show in her stunning gown, accessorising with a bejewelled tiara.

Letizia also wore the blue and white striped sash distinguishing the Order of Charles III.

Earlier the Spanish royals were on hand to greet the visiting dignitaries as they arrived at the Royal Palace in Madrid.

Before posing for photos on the steps, Letizia whipped off a classic tan trench caot to reveal a fitted plum-coloured frock.

President Reuven Rivlin and his wife Nechama are on the first day of a three-day visit marking 30 years of diplomatic ties between the two countries.

The trip will include meetings with leading figures in the Spanish Jewish community, as well as a banquet hosted by the king and queen.

The visit comes as Spain remains gripped by the constitutional crisis over Catalonia, with deposed Catalan president Carles Puigdemont and four of his ex-ministers being freed by authorities in Belgium after handing themselves over to police.

However any concerns seemed far from the minds of the royal couple today, who put on a warm reception for their guests.

Letizia wrapped up against the winter chill in her classic trench coat, which she paired with suede mushroom-coloured heels.

She completed the look with a matching metallic clutch.

The mother-of-two wore the raincoat over a simple purple fit-and-flare dress which showcased her slender figure.

Meanwhile King Felipe, 49, looked dapper in a pin-striped suit, white shirt and blue floral tie.
