Queen Letizia of Spain wears recycled Reiss skirt for cultural engagement in Madrid

Queen Letizia of Spain leaned into pastel tones for spring as she attended the presentation of the ‘Digital Portal of Hispanic History’ at the Royal Palace in Madrid.

The royal, 50, and her husband were all smiles as they gathered for the event, which aims to demonstrate how geography can map a vision of the past.

The mother-of-two, known for recycling her very stylish wardrobe, donned a statement midi-skirt from Reiss – which she also wore for an event last March.

The textured lilac and indigo hues of the piece, resembling a butterfly’s wing, made for a chic contrast to her baby pink turtleneck.

Letizia cinched her waist with a chunky belt, accentuating a sophisticated silhouette. The royal opted for a glam, warm makeup look with peachy eye shadow and a pink lip, wearing her chestnut tresses down.

Nailing both sophisticated and casual, she finished the look off with black heeled boots and a handbag.

Meanwhile Felipe cut a dapper figure in a black suit, which he teamed with a scarlet red tie.

The king wore sophisticated brown leather boots as him and his wife arrived for the engagement.

The couple were pictured laughing with other attendees, and appeared to be in high spirits as they sat down next to each other.

The Hispanic History portal aims to demonstrate the collaboration between different data when it comes to building up the character of a place’s past.

The Royal Academy of History, which runs the project, works with the purpose of ‘illustrating and investigating the past’, according to the Spanish Royal Family’s website.

It comes as Letizia last week looked the picture of poise as she attended the opening of a contemporary art fair in Madrid.

Looking typically stylish, the royal sported an elegant pink frock as she joined King Felipe at the annual outing.

Walking alongside her husband, art-lover Letizia admired the works on display at the ARCO 2023 Contemporary Art Fair in the Spanish capital.

Adding an extra pop of colour to her fashionable ensemble, the royal opted for a vibrant floral handbag.

She teamed the midi dress, which was cinched at the waist with a matching pink belt and boasted rolled-up three-quarter sleeves, with nude heels.

The royal finished off her look with a glamorous pair of amber and purple earrings, while sporting a smattering of makeup, including bronzer and a pink eye shadow.

Her husband King Felipe looked just as sophisticated in a pinstripe suit with a colourful tie.

The event was hosted by ARCO Madrid, an international contemporary art fair in Spain that has been running since 1982.

A total of 211 galleries from 36 countries participated in the fair until February 26. Former news presenter Letizia is a keen art fan and regularly attends the annual occasion.
