‘Queen of Soho’ takes reins of late grandfather Paul Raymond’s £1.1bn west end Property firm

The granddaughter of the ‘King of Soho’ Paul Raymond is to take the helm at his £1.1billion West End property empire.

Fawn James, 39, will become the managing director of Soho Estates – the largest property owner in the area – next month.

The estate owns hundreds of offices, shops and restaurants, including Ronnie Scott’s jazz club and the first Soho House private members’ club.

This will make her one of the most powerful women in British property. Her grandfather became one of Britain’s richest men with an estimated £650million fortune. 

He died in 2008. He began building the empire with the Raymond Revuebar strip club, which opened in 1958 and closed in 2004. He went on to amass millions buying more nightclubs in the West End.

Fawn and her sister, India Rose, 33, have a net worth of £750million after they inherited the business, according to the Sunday Times Rich List.
