Jermyn Street shirt-maker Emma Willis is opening a Mayfair shop with Savile Row-trained tailor Caroline Andrew.

The move brings together two of the foremost women in upmarket British menswear.

Willis, one of the very few female shirt-makers in the male sartorial enclave, with clients including the King and James Bond star Daniel Craig, says: ‘We all became so casual in lockdown that people are excited about dressing up again.

‘My customers are also saying that they want to inspire confidence in their clients. If someone is a leader, they tell me that they need to look like a leader.’

A hand-finished shirt off-the-peg in cashmere cotton is about £400. A shirt fitted to your individual measurements costs four figures.

She is opening a store with Andrew, who makes bespoke suits for men and women, in a Georgian town house in nearby Old Burlington Street.

Andrew also has a ready-to-wear line, including the casual pocketed field jacket costing from £995 to £1,500. A made-to-measure suit starts at £4,500.

Lord Rose, former chairman and chief executive of Marks & Spencer, credits Andrew with sharpening up his look.
