A Queensland man has been arrested after attempting to smuggle something other than a budgie in his underpants.

Police say they discovered over $8,000 worth of ice in the 32-year-old’s undies after intercepting a car on the northern Gold Coast on Saturday night.

They also allegedly found a clear liquid suspected of being the drug Fantasy, and a single round of ammunition in a bag inside the car.

A 32-year-old man and woman were slapped with two counts of possession of a dangerous drug and one count each of possession of a utensil.

The man and a 32-year-old woman have both been charged with two counts of possession of a dangerous drug and one count each of possession of a utensil.

Both have been served with a notice to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on October 11.

Less than three hours later, police on patrol intercepted a second car in Molendinar.

A search of the car allegedly uncovered bottles suspected to contain Fantasy with an estimated street value of $6000.

A 38-year-old man was given a notice to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on October 11 on charges of possessing a dangerous drug and possession of a utensil.
